Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Lead QA for Guidewire or P&C insurance implementation projects, from requirement analysis and test strategy through execution and sign-off, ensuring scope, timelines, and quality targets are met.
  • Design, write, and maintain high-quality manual test cases and test scenarios that align to business requirements, configuration, and integration flows for core P&C processes (for example, policy, billing, claims).
  • Collaborate closely with Functional and Technical Consultants, developers, and customer stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify test coverage gaps, and proactively manage risks and defects using tools such as Jira.
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and UAT support testing; analyze results; and drive clear, data-based recommendations for go/no-go decisions on releases and production deployments.
  • Advocate for testing best practices and QA standards within Professional Services, helping to industrialize repeatable, efficient testing approaches that support the organization’s goals of reducing implementation effort by 50% and time by 30%.
  • Mentor and guide junior QA team members, providing review, coaching, and knowledge sharing across global project teams.
  • Partner with teams to leverage AI, automation, and reusable assets in testing (for example, AI-assisted test design or defect analysis) to increase productivity and consistency, in line with Guidewire’s Professional Services VPMOM and broader AI strategy.
  • At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.

What you’ll bring

Required

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in QA functional testing, including end-to-end ownership of test planning, design, execution, and reporting for enterprise applications.
  • Hands-on experience testing Guidewire applications (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, or related products) or similar P&C insurance domain systems.
  • Strong skills in designing and writing clear, maintainable manual test cases and test scripts based on business and functional requirements.
  • Experience using defect and test management tools such as Jira, with the ability to triage, prioritize, and communicate defects effectively to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently within a global project team, manage priorities in a dynamic environment, and meet project deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the confidence to articulate quality risks and defend testing recommendations while remaining open to feedback and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Preferred

  • Experience on Guidewire cloud implementations or large-scale cloud-based enterprise transformations.
  • Background working in or with Professional Services or consulting environments, including direct customer-facing experience on implementation or migration programs.
  • Exposure to test automation approaches or tools (even if the role is primarily functional/manual) and an interest in leveraging automation and AI to reduce testing effort over time, in support of Professional Services’ efficiency and quality goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Your Impact

We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. In your first six months, you will take ownership of QA for one or more Guidewire implementation projects, building a deep understanding of customer business processes, defining the test strategy, and delivering well-structured test cases and execution plans that keep quality central to every release. You will be measured on outcomes such as defect leakage, test coverage, adherence to timelines, and your contribution to reducing rework and implementation effort—all of which directly support Professional Services’ goals to revolutionize services execution, scale revenue, and deploy AI-powered capabilities across projects.
