Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Guidewire's application platform, primarily focusing on backend services but with flexibility to occasionally work with infrastructure and frontend.
Apply agentic coding tools and support Guidewire's effort to dramatically accelerate development.
Engineer for quality, scalability, availability, and security in every aspect of the platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient platform operations, supporting Guidewire's mission of operational excellence and transformative innovation.
Support and mentor junior engineers, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in backend software engineering, with a solid track record in system design and building platform services.
Experience with coding agents and automation tools.
Strong proficiency in one of Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, with ability to adjust to other languages.
Experience building APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.
