Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with Lead UX Architects, Business Analysts, and engineers to design end‑to‑end UX and UI flows for complex insurance journeys (e.g., claims, policy servicing, billing) that are both user-centered and technically feasible.

  • Create high-quality, responsive UI designs, wireframes, and interactive prototypes in Figma, ensuring they align with customer brand guidelines, PS implementation accelerators, and Guidewire’s design system and tokens.

  • Translate business requirements, user research, and workflow analysis into clear UX deliverables (journey maps, information architecture, interaction patterns, high‑fidelity mockups, and redlines) that support faster, higher‑quality Professional Services implementations and reusable assets.

  • Partner with PS project teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to refine designs through sprint ceremonies, incorporate feedback from client stakeholders, and balance usability, performance, accessibility, and delivery timelines.

  • Contribute to the evolution of shared design systems, design tokens, and component libraries used across PS to reduce implementation effort, improve consistency, and scale best-practice user experience patterns across regions and lines of business.

  • Apply accessibility and inclusive design principles to ensure solutions work for diverse users, devices, and usage contexts, helping insurers deliver compliant, intuitive digital products for their customers and employees.

  • Use AI‑powered design, prototyping, and analytics tools where appropriate to explore concepts, validate ideas quickly, and improve design productivity in line with Guidewire’s AI‑driven services strategy and cloud transformation priorities.

  • At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.

What you’ll bring

Required

Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

  • 3-5 years of experience in UX, interaction, or UI design, ideally on complex enterprise, B2B, or workflow-heavy software products or platforms.

  • Proficiency with modern design and collaboration tools such as Figma and Miro; familiarity with tools like Photoshop and PowerPoint for visual refinement, stakeholder presentations, and design documentation.

  • Experience working with or contributing to design systems and design tokens, and confidence designing responsive web applications for desktop and mobile.

  • Strong visual and interaction design skills, with keen attention to detail in layout, spacing, typography, color, component states, and error handling.

  • Ability to work independently under the guidance of a Lead UX Architect while actively collaborating with cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams in a fast-paced delivery environment.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain design decisions to non-design stakeholders, facilitate feedback sessions, and iterate quickly based on input.

  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and project streams, including client-driven priorities and internal PS initiatives.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, UX Design, Industrial Design, Design Thinking, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience designing for insurance, financial services, or other regulated, domain-heavy industries where workflows are complex and data-rich.
  • Exposure to Professional Services or implementation projects (for example, working with external client stakeholders, adapting designs to customer-specific brands and processes, or supporting product rollouts).
  • Understanding of how AI and analytics can be embedded into workflows (such as assisting adjusters, underwriters, contact-center agents, or operations teams) to improve decision-making, efficiency, and customer experience.

Your Impact

We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. In your first months, you’ll onboard to Guidewire’s products, Professional Services methods, and core P&C insurance journeys, then take ownership of UX and UI design for specific features or projects under the mentorship of a Lead UX Architect and senior PS leaders.

You’ll help create Figma-based design assets, specifications, and reusable patterns that reduce implementation effort and time while elevating user experience across customer programs and regions. As you grow, your work will shape how PS scales AI-enabled delivery, influences product and design system evolution, and helps global insurers successfully run, differentiate, and grow their businesses on Guidewire’s cloud, digital, analytics, and AI-powered industry platform.
