Job Description
What you’ll do
Manage complex, multi-month Guidewire Cloud programs independently, from initial scoping and planning through execution, launch, and stabilization, ensuring outcomes align with PDO priorities of operational excellence, security, and measurable customer value.
Lead cross-functional delivery across Engineering, SRE, Security, Technical Account Management, Customer Success, and GGS to build and optimize cloud infrastructure, enforce cloud compliance standards, and execute decommission and migration strategies.
Own integrated program roadmaps, schedules, and dependency maps across teams and systems; proactively identify risks, predict bottlenecks weeks in advance, and drive clear mitigation plans and trade-off decisions with stakeholders.
Translate business needs and platform objectives into concrete technical workstreams and backlogs, using data, metrics, and cloud telemetry to prioritize and continuously refine execution plans.
Drive improvements in reliability, security posture, and cost efficiency in line with PDO’s FY26 focus on secure, scalable operations, NIST CSF improvements, and gross margin targets.
Establish and continuously improve program rituals (status reviews, stakeholder updates, risk reviews) that create transparency, support data-driven decision-making, and keep teams aligned on objectives and key results.
Mentor 1–2 team members and facilitate recurring knowledge-share sessions to spread best practices in technical program management, cloud operations, and agile delivery within the broader PDO community.
At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.
What you’ll bring
Required:
5 - 8 years of overall IT experience, including 3+ years of experience managing complex technology projects/programs with a strong focus on cloud-based services and infrastructure such as AWS and Kubernetes.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven track record driving cross-functional initiatives end-to-end—defining scope, building plans, managing risks, and delivering against clear business and technical outcomes.
Solid understanding of agile concepts and tools, with experience using systems like Jira and Confluence (or similar) to manage backlogs, track progress, and communicate status.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments under uncertainty and to use metrics to inform decisions and measure impact.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing without authority and aligning diverse technical and non-technical partners.
Demonstrated ability to bring structure to ambiguity, simplify complexity, and drive clarity in fast-changing environments.
Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
Experience working in or closely with SRE, Security, or large-scale cloud operations teams, especially in a SaaS or platform environment.
Experience in or exposure to the P&C insurance, insurtech, or other regulated industries where security, compliance, and reliability are critical.
Familiarity with tools such as Monday, Aha, or other program/portfolio management and reporting tools.
Professional program or project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, Agile, Scrum) or equivalent experience.
Direct experience with Guidewire Cloud or large-scale multi-tenant cloud products is a plus.
Your Impact
We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. In your first six months, you will take ownership of one or more high-impact Guidewire Cloud programs focused on operational excellence—such as improving reliability and incident response, advancing cloud compliance and security posture, or optimizing infrastructure and decommission strategies in support of PDO’s FY26 VPMOM.
You will create integrated program plans, align stakeholders across Engineering, SRE, Security, Customer Success, Guidewire Global Support, and Professional Services, and use data and AI-driven insights to track progress against clear metrics like availability, compliance adherence, and cost efficiency, ultimately helping ensure customers are successful, referenceable, and realize measurable value from Guidewire’s platform.
Over time, your work will influence how we run our cloud at scale, how quickly we can bring new AI-powered capabilities to customers, and how effectively Guidewire delivers on its mission to transform the way P&C insurers do business worldwide.
