Program Manager - Developer Experience
Software Engineering, Operations
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
Job Description
What you’ll do:
Event Strategy & Planning
Translate business, brand, and people objectives into clear event strategies, formats, and success measures.
Design end-to-end event journeys (pre-event, on-site, post-event) and manage annual/quarterly calendars to prioritize impact and avoid clashes.
Enjoys trying new approaches—piloting formats, themes, and experiences, then scaling what works instead of repeating “how it’s always been done.”
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Management
Partner with senior leaders and teams across People/HR, Workplace, Communications, Marketing, and Security/IT to co-own outcomes.
Set and manage expectations on scope, timelines, and budgets, bringing options, trade-offs, and recommendations—not just task updates.
Work effectively with global stakeholders across time zones for leadership visits, customer experiences, and partner-facing events.
End-to-End Event Execution
Own concept → plan → execution → measurement for multiple events in parallel.
Lead on-ground operations (registrations, attendee communications, layouts, signage, hospitality, F&B, AV, safety, compliance).
Coordinate multi-day conferences, hackathons, town-halls, and large culture events, including speaker flow, agenda, zones, demos, and audience interaction.
Vendor & Budget Management
Manage agencies and vendors across production, venues, F&B, décor, merchandise, content capture, and transport.
Negotiate scopes, compare quotes, lock timelines, and enforce SLAs while protecting experience quality.
Handle budgets, POs/ZIPs, invoices, and cost optimization; build simple ROI views using metrics such as attendance, engagement, NPS, and cost per participant.
Tools, Systems & Processes
Use event and collaboration tools (spreadsheets, presentations, project trackers, forms, email tools, basic design templates) confidently.
Apply strong project management discipline—timelines, responsibilities, risks, checklists, and crisp status updates across workstreams.
Maintain lean templates and checklists for key event types and use survey/attendance data to experiment, learn, and continuously improve.
Mindset & Behavioural Competencies
Strong ownership mindset with a bias to action; treats every event as a product to be iterated and improved, not a checklist to be repeated.
Naturally curious and experiment-driven—asks “how could this be better or different?”
High empathy and respect for diverse audiences; committed to creating inclusive, welcoming experiences that feel thoughtful and intentional.
Detail-oriented yet able to connect events back to the broader story we want to tell as Guidewire India; comfortable in an ambiguous, high-growth, tech-centric environment.
What you’ll bring:
Required
6 - 8 years’ experience in event management, experiential marketing, or large-scale employee engagement, preferably in a technology, GCC, or B2B environment.
Proven track record of end-to-end ownership of complex, multi-stakeholder events (beyond coordination support).
Experience with India-based hubs of global organizations is a strong plus.
Exposure to developer, technology, open-source, or industry events is an advantage, not a requirement
Proficiency with collaboration and planning tools (spreadsheets, presentation tools, project trackers, survey tools, basic design templates) and comfort learning new internal platforms.
