Key qualifications include experience with:
Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
• Minimum 2+ years of Software Development experience, preferably in SaaS or cloud solutions
• Proficiency in Core Java, and good working knowledge of the Spring framework
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python
• Experience building microservices on cloud service platforms (e.g. AWS/GCP/Azure) – AWS preferred
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Experience designing REST or gRPC based APIs
• Ability to use AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development while exercising strong judgment around code quality, testing, and security
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles
• Understanding of relational database persistence (e.g. MySQL, Oracle); familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, CouchDB) is a plus
• Great understanding of CI/CD and DevOps principles; experience with related tools such as TeamCity, Git-based workflows, or Kubernetes is a definite plus
• Experience with LLMs, LangChain, and/or AI patterns such as RAG or ReAct is a plus
• Exposure to AI/ML development patterns such as prompt engineering or integrating AI services into production systems is a plus
• BS/MS degree (Computer Science or related field)

The Canadian CAD base salary range for this full-time position is $86,000 - $108,000. Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
