The Opportunity
The IT Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of PulseMedica’s IT infrastructure, software applications, and cybersecurity. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a secure, scalable, and efficient IT environment, supporting business operations, research, and engineering initiatives.
The person will be responsible for:
- Lead PulseMedica’s IT infrastructure, software systems, and cybersecurity — from strategy and design to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain secure, efficient, and scalable cloud-based and on-prem infrastructure to support business, R&D, and machine learning operations.
- Identify IT risks and vulnerabilities, implement mitigation strategies, and establish policies that enhance operational efficiency and data protection.
- Manage IT assets, hardware, software licensing, and permissions, ensuring smooth onboarding/offboarding and system access for all employees.
- Oversee vendor relationships, service contracts, and third-party IT providers.
- Monitor and optimize the company’s technology stack, identifying opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and security.
- Provide reports and documentation to communicate technical outcomes and best practices to internal stakeholders.
- Support training, change management, and cross-team collaboration to ensure successful adoption of IT systems and initiatives.
- Act as the main point of contact for all IT-related matters and perform other duties as needed to advance organizational goals.
- Support CI/CD infrastructure by maintaining build machines, code repositories, and integration pipelines.
- Develop and maintain Cybersecurity Test Plan to meet cybersecurity requirements for regulatory bodies.
- Supporting Cybersecurity Verification and Validation activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in IT management or systems administration, preferably in a startup, research, or technology-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure), networking, cybersecurity, and system integration.
- Experience implementing IT policies, governance frameworks, and risk management practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and accountability.
- Nice to have understanding of regulatory requirements.
Anticipated Start Date: as soon as a suitable candidate is found
Duration: Full time Permanent (40 hours per week)
Salary: Commensurate to experience and qualifications
Location: Edmonton (Onsite)
