Field Applications Engineer

Position Overview

Pulsenics is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to lead on-site deployments, pilots, demonstrations, and customer enablement of Pulsenics’ electrochemical diagnostics solutions.

This is a highly client-facing role responsible for translating Pulsenics’ hardware and software into successful real-world installations. You will work directly at customer sites to commission systems, train users, troubleshoot issues, and ensure customers are set up for long-term success. The role requires frequent travel, strong technical judgment, and the ability to operate independently in unfamiliar environments.

This is not a sales role and not a reactive support role. It is a hands-on engineering position for someone who is comfortable owning deployments end-to-end and representing Pulsenics technically in front of sophisticated customers.

Why This Role Matters

Pulsenics’ systems are deployed in complex laboratory and industrial environments where reliability, correctness, and setup quality directly affect customer outcomes. The Field Applications Engineer is the face of Pulsenics during the most critical moments of the customer journey: pilots, commissioning, and first real use.

The quality of work in this role determines whether customers trust Pulsenics’ offerings, adopt it successfully, and expand their use over time. Strong technical judgment, disciplined execution, and clear communication in the field directly influence customer satisfaction, product credibility, and long-term commercial success.

This role is best suited for engineers who take pride in doing things properly, are comfortable being accountable on-site, and enjoy solving real problems under real constraints.

What We’re Looking For

  • Engineers who are hands-on, disciplined, and reliable under pressure.

  • Individuals who can represent the company professionally and technically in front of customers.

  • People who take ownership of outcomes and do not rely on constant supervision.

  • Clear communicators who can balance technical depth with practical execution.

  • Candidates who enjoy travel and field work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site and remote demonstrations, pilots, commissioning, and deployments of Pulsenics’ hardware and software solutions.

  • Set up, configure, test, and validate Pulsenics systems at customer sites, including hardware installation, wiring, software configuration, and performance verification.

  • Deliver structured training sessions to customers on system operation, best practices, and correct use of Pulsenics’ products.

  • Develop and manage schedules for customer deployments, training, and commissioning activities.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues spanning hardware, firmware, software, and customer test environments.

  • Work closely with Product Development, and Operations teams to ensure systems meet customer specifications and deployment requirements.

  • Collect, structure, and communicate customer feedback to internal teams to inform product improvements and future development.

  • Support after-sales technical engagements to ensure successful adoption and ongoing use of Pulsenics’ solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working with electrical, electrochemical, or instrumentation-based systems.

  • Demonstrated experience installing, commissioning, or supporting complex technical systems in customer or field environments.

  • Strong ability to work with electrical systems, instrumentation, and test setups.

  • Experience in clean technology, energy systems, batteries, fuel cells, or electrochemical applications is strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in diagnosing issues in real-world environments.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with confidence communicating directly with customers.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deployments or priorities.

  • Comfortable working independently, traveling frequently, and operating effectively in unfamiliar environments.
