Electronics & Systems Technician
PulSenics
Electronics & Systems Technician
Position Overview
Pulsenics is seeking an Electronics & Systems Technician who takes pride in building, maintaining, and improving high-quality electronic systems. This is a hands-on role responsible for assembling hardware, maintaining test and build stations, supporting engineering development, and ensuring our lab and production environments operate reliably and efficiently.
You will work closely with hardware, firmware, and software engineers to build prototypes and production units, troubleshoot issues, automate repetitive tasks, and keep systems running to a high standard. This role is ideal for someone who is methodical, detail-oriented, and cares deeply about doing things properly to a high standard, not just getting them done.
This is not an assembly-line role. It is a technical position for someone who enjoys ownership, precision, and continuous improvement.
Why this Role Matters
Pulsenics’ products depend on accurate measurements, reliable hardware, and well-maintained test environments. The quality of builds, test setups, and lab infrastructure directly affects engineering velocity, data integrity, and customer outcomes.
The Electronics & Systems Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that what Pulsenics designs can be built, tested, repeated, and trusted. Attention to detail, consistency, and pride in workmanship in this role directly contribute to product quality and company credibility.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, wire, and test electronic systems for prototypes, internal test units, and production builds.
Perform PCB assembly, rework, and precision soldering for both development and production hardware.
Set up, maintain, and continuously improve test stations, build fixtures, and lab infrastructure.
Troubleshoot hardware, wiring, and system-level issues; diagnose faults and perform repairs or component replacements.
Execute testing, calibration, and validation procedures to ensure systems meet electrical and performance specifications.
Write and maintain simple scripts or tools (e.g., Python, shell, or similar) to automate testing, data capture, or repetitive lab tasks.
Maintain clear and accurate documentation for builds, test procedures, calibration steps, and system configurations.
Support engineers during hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation activities.
Manage lab organization, tooling, and equipment to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
Identify opportunities to improve build quality, test repeatability, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on experience as an Electronics Technician, Systems Technician, or similar role.
Strong practical experience with electronic assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Experience performing PCB soldering, rework, and component-level repair.
Comfort working with computers, interfaces, and basic scripting or automation tools (Python or similar is an asset).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, repeatable work.
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with teammates.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
