About Rippling

Rippling is the first way for businesses to manage all of their HR & IT—payroll, benefits, computers, apps, and more—in one unified workforce platform.

By connecting every business system to one source of truth for employee data, businesses can automate all of the manual work they normally need to do to make employee changes. Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can just click a button and set up a new employees’ payroll, health insurance, work computer, and third-party apps—like Slack, Zoom, and Office 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $700M from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, and Bedrock—and was named one of America’s best startup employers by Forbes (#12 out of 500).

About The Role

As our Manager of Private Equity Sales, you will lead and develop a team of highly strategic Private Equity Account Executives (PE AEs) responsible for building and scaling Rippling's partnership ecosystem within the Private Equity and Growth Equity space. We're looking for an ambitious, partnership-focused leader with an entrepreneurial mindset who can launch this new go-to-market channel from the ground up.

Your leadership will be critical in driving direct revenue as well as indirect revenue influence, establishing long-term strategic relationships with PE Operating Partners and Value Creation teams, and creating the referral motion that generates a significant pipeline for your own team as well as our core sales organization. This position reports to a Director of Enterprise Sales.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and coach a team of PE AEs to consistently achieve and exceed targets for revenue, pipeline generation, portfolio influence, and strategic deal sourcing.
  • Monitor sales performance: pipeline health, pipeline progression, monthly forecasts, and bookings to ensure quota attainment.
  • Develop and refine the PE partnership playbook, including strategies for initial outreach, engaging C-Suite stakeholders (Operating Partners), and scaling technology adoption across a PE firm's entire portfolio of companies.
  • Monitor team performance against key metrics: PE relationship health, portfolio coverage, new referral agreements, and PE-sourced/influenced revenue forecasts.
  • Assist your team with complex partnership negotiations, new customer agreements, and executive-level presentations on Rippling’s value proposition during the M&A diligence and value creation phases.
  • Ensure the team maintains accurate documentation in Salesforce related to PE firm structure, partnership lifecycle status, and the health of the resulting portfolio company pipeline.
  • Actively collaborate with Legal, Revenue Operations, and Sales Leadership to scale the PE channel
  • Participate in hiring, interviewing, training, and the long-term development of high-performing PE AEs.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitive landscapes within the Private Equity technology stack, and effectively position Rippling as a preferred platform partner.
  • Coordinate specialized enablement sessions focused on the nuances of the PE investment lifecycle, financial modeling, and executive engagement strategies.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience managing successful SaaS sales teams, with AEs delivering $1M+ in ARR bookings
  • Direct experience selling to or managing relationships with Private Equity firms (Operating Partners, Value Creation) or M&A advisory services is highly preferred.
  • Solid track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining a high performing enterprise sales organization
  • Experience selling HCM software and or related products preferred.
  • Able to accurately forecast team performance on a monthly and quarterly time frame.
  • Proven ability to manage teams focused on both direct revenue generation as well as influence and indirect revenue generation (rather than purely transactional sales).
  • Deep understanding of the financial and operational drivers within Private Equity portfolio companies.
  • Motivated with a desire to learn and have a strong work ethic
