About the Role
Rippling Payments Ireland Limited (“RPay Ireland”) is an authorised Electronic Money Institution supervised by the Central Bank of Ireland and is a wholly owned subsidiary of RIppling. As Chief Executive Officer, you will hold a Pre-Approval Controlled Function (PCF-8) role under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness & Probity regime. You will be accountable to the Board of Directors for the leadership, governance, and overall performance of the Irish entity.
This role requires a proven leader in global payments and financial infrastructure, someone who can scale complex operations and ensure operational resilience in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
What you will do
Strategic & Business Leadership
- Lead the implementation of group strategy within Rippling Payments Ireland, ensuring effective, compliant, and resilient execution of all payments and operational activities.
- Lead the delivery of sustainable growth across all payments and e-money activities, driving operational excellence and customer trust.
- Oversee all functions of RPay Ireland, including operations, finance, risk and compliance, ensuring effective coordination with Rippling Product, Engineering, and Payment Operations.
- Represent RPay Ireland within Rippling’s global operational structure, providing insight and strategic guidance on European payment operations.
Payments Operations Oversight
- Partner with Rippling Product, Engineering, and Payment Operations to ensure payments infrastructure and operations are robust, scalable, and designed for continuous improvement.
- Contribute as a thought-leader to global programs focused on payments automation, monitoring, and control systems.
Accountability for Incident Management & Resilience
- Serve as the executive owner of incident management for Rippling Payments Ireland, accountable to the Board for the effectiveness of incident detection, escalation, response, and recovery processes.
- Lead the Incident Management Committee, ensuring that all major incidents , operational, technical, or security-related are managed with clear governance, decisive action, and transparent communication.
- Represent the entity in all external communications related to major incidents, including those with regulators, partners, and customers.
- Oversee regulatory post-incident reviews and ensure that lessons learned are embedded across people, process, and technology.
- Drive a proactive culture of operational resilience, ensuring that business continuity, disaster recovery, and risk mitigation frameworks are tested and effective.
- Act as the escalation point for group-level incidents impacting Irish operations, ensuring coordinated response and appropriate Board and regulatory engagement.
Governance & Board Engagement
- Maintain strong governance frameworks and ensure clear apportionment of responsibilities across the senior management team.
- Report regularly to the Board on operational performance, financial health, key risks, and major incidents.
- Ensure Board visibility and oversight of critical decisions, ensuring transparent communication and timely escalation of material matters.
- Foster a governance culture grounded in integrity, accountability, and prudent risk-taking.
Leadership & Culture
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing executive team within Rippling Payments Ireland.
- Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability, with an emphasis on collaboration between Irish operations and global teams.
- Model ethical leadership and a commitment to customer protection, operational discipline, and long-term sustainability.
- Ensure leadership continuity and succession planning across key roles and functions.
What you will need
The successful candidate will be an accomplished executive with deep experience in global payments operations, incident leadership, and scaling regulated financial infrastructure.
Experience & Capabilities
- 10+ years’ experience in senior leadership roles within global payments, fintech, or financial services.
- Proven leadership in global payments operations, treasury management, or e-money issuance at scale.
- Demonstrated success leading major operational or technology incidents, with direct accountability for business continuity, stakeholder management, and recovery outcomes.
- Experience operating within or leading a regulated financial entity, with comfort engaging directly with Boards and regulators.
- Strong understanding of payments systems and networks (e.g., SEPA, SEPA INST, and other international payment protocols).
- Strategic operator with a data-driven approach to performance, risk, and operational design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior CEO, COO, or equivalent PCF role in a regulated payments or fintech entity.
- Relevant degree in business, finance, or technology; postgraduate or professional qualifications in leadership, governance, or risk management an advantage.
- Familiarity with enterprise-scale payments infrastructure, cloud systems, and API-based payment models.
