About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About the role

Scaling to $1B ARR and beyond means we need operators who can drive outsized returns from paid search — and that's where you come in.

At Rippling, the growth team is the tip of the spear of revenue generation. Our team’s job is to maximize revenue by efficiently driving qualified leads. In SEM, that means using data to identify growth opportunities, turning them into testable hypotheses, scaling what works, and applying deep channel expertise to keep the program running efficiently.

In this role, you will own end-to-end paid SEM strategy and execution for Rippling's International suite across Google, Bing, and key regional search engines. This is a unique opportunity to support the build and scale of Rippling's international search engine marketing function in-house – transitioning ownership from an external agency and helping to establish the operational rigor, experimentation framework, and optimization strategy needed to drive efficient growth across highly competitive global markets.

You’ll work at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and execution, partnering closely with Business Unit (BU) Growth leads, Marketing Operations, Analytics, and other cross-functional stakeholders to unlock pipeline growth at scale. Reporting directly to the Director of Search Marketing, you’ll play a critical role in shaping Rippling’s global growth strategy and expanding our reach across international markets.

What you will do

  • Own SEM Strategy & Execution: Manage the end-to-end paid search strategy for international markets, hitting pipeline and efficiency targets while owning budget allocation and optimization.
  • Develop Market-Specific Growth Plans: Build SEM strategies that account for local demand, search behavior, competitive dynamics, language/localization needs, and regional search engine nuances.
  • Drive Experimentation: Build and execute quarterly experimentation roadmaps grounded in product-market hypotheses and competitive dynamics.
  • Stakeholder Management: Partner with BU stakeholders to align on priorities, budget tradeoffs, performance trends, and the roadmap for scaling International SEM.
  • Advanced Platform Adoption: Drive the testing and adoption of advanced Google Ads capabilities, including PMAX, audience strategies, AI Max, and smart bidding approaches.
  • Improve the Full SEM Growth Loop: Partner with CRO, web, and product marketing teams to improve landing page relevance, conversion rate, and downstream lead quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Analytics, Finance, Sales, CRO, and channel teams to identify growth opportunities and connect SEM strategy to broader business priorities.
  • Agency Transition: Lead the transition of day-to-day campaign management from the external agency to internal ownership.

What you will bring

  • Extensive SEM Experience: 4–8+ years of hands-on experience in Search Engine Marketing or Performance Marketing, ideally within B2B SaaS.
  • Platform Mastery: Deep expertise in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads/Bing, including targeting, bidding, conversion tracking, reporting, and campaign architecture.
  • Proven Track Record: Experience managing multi-million dollar budgets and optimizing toward pipeline metrics rather than just lead volume.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong strategic thinking with the ability to build roadmaps, size opportunities, and use data tools (Google Sheets, SQL, or BI tools like Tableau) to tell a clear performance story.
  • Bias to Action: A high-agency mindset with the ability to move fast, prioritize ruthlessly, and iterate without waiting for perfect information.
  • Cross-Functional Proficiency: Excellent communication skills to run working sessions and present results to leadership.
  • Bonus Skills: Experience with CAPI/server-side tracking, offline conversion imports, value-based bidding, international SEM, regional search engines, and using AI tools for workflow automation.
