Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About the role

As an Insurance Operations Analyst, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of member data across U.S. health insurance clients. Stepping up from foundational operational execution, you will apply professional concepts and structured problem-solving to resolve moderately challenging data discrepancies, manage a high-quality task pipeline, and proactively surface issues before they escalate.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, analytically curious, and eager to grow their insurance expertise in a fast-paced environment. You will work within established guidelines and procedures while developing increasing documenting processes, driving resolution on technical issues, and collaborating across a wide range of internal teams with minimal day-to-day management oversight. You will serve as a reliable partner across Sales, TAMs, AMs, Product, and Engineering, and will be expected to deliver exceptional customer service on every interaction.

What you will do

  • Investigate and resolve moderately complex enrollment and eligibility discrepancies between benefits administration systems and carrier records, ensuring member data integrity across health, dental, vision, and ancillary lines of coverage.
  • Manage a structured caseload of open items - tracking status, identifying blockers, and proactively communicating updates to stakeholders independently.
  • Serve as a point of contact for carriers, and employer groups on day-to-day operational inquiries, providing timely, accurate, and professional responses across all communication channels.
  • Support renewals and enrollment, ensuring transactions are confirmed, reconciled, and reflected accurately on both the platform - Rippling and carrier side.
  • Identify recurring data or process gaps, document findings, and contribute to the development and refinement of operational workflows and standard procedures.
  • Escalate system-level issues and product gaps to technical and product teams with clear context, supporting resolution and follow-through from identification to closure.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams - including account management, client success, and implementation - to resolve multi-party operational issues and deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Build and apply growing expertise in U.S. group health insurance operations, including carrier data structures, enrollment cycles, and benefits compliance fundamentals.

What you will need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 3+ years of experience in benefits operations, insurance operations, or a related role - ideally at a health insurance carrier, TPA, benefits broker, or HR tech/benefits platform.
  • Ability to apply professional concepts and problem-solving techniques to define and resolve issues, determining the right course of action based on established procedures and guidelines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to handle multiple concurrent cases independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - curiosity and adaptability are a must; you investigate eligibility and enrollment issues thoroughly and surface findings proactively.
  • Solid proficiency in Salesforce (SFDC) for case management, with a track record of meeting and improving productivity targets month-over-month.
  • Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders - clear, professional, and efficient across all mediums.
  • Experience coordinating with health insurance carriers, brokers, or employer groups on enrollment and eligibility matters.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration platforms and carrier portal workflows.
  • Experience working with Excel or Google Sheets for data tracking, reconciliation, and reporting is a plus.
  • Experience using Jira or similar tools to track and escalate technical issues is a plus.
