Location: Remote-First (Canada)
Salary Range: $33 - $40 per hour

- Transform data narratives into engaging digital media assets.
- Design and implement compelling stories and interactive experiences within the RWI Holodeck platform.
- Integrate gameplay elements into RWI’s Synthetic Environments (textures, decorations, animations, audio, characters, objects, etc.).
- Utilize our proprietary JSON API for data integration and storytelling.
- Survey relevant research to identify applicable data sources and open data sources
- Design models and systems of models that interact to recreate real-life systems of systems under known and novel circumstances, infrastructure and people
- Use the RWI Symbolic Notation Language (SNL) and supporting tools that enable social scientists and engineers, without programming backgrounds, to implement, test, integrate and validate models, incrementally
- Exercise good judgement and decision making in complex and novel areas of modelling, including seeking input and guidance from team members- use provided tools and training to collaborate around large datasets to measure outcomes, benefits, impacts, indicators that establish baselines, indicators, and forecasts to support actionable recommendations
- Apply quantitative methodology to arrive at data-based insight and make data-driven recommendations that influence customer and stakeholder strategy and business decisions through fact-based, data-driven insights and analysis
- Collaborate with modelers, data scientists, and project leads to align technical execution with key project messages.
- Test, debug, and adjust levels and designs based on feedback.
- Create and maintain thorough documentation of processes, configurations, and tools.
- Work with version control systems (eg., Git) for managing and integrating changes.
- Stay updated on trends in VR/AR technologies, digital storytelling, and video game development.
- Propose solutions and improvements to the Holodeck design pipeline and tools.
What You’ll Bring
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in programming with open-standard JSON and light scripting (eg., Bash, Python).
- Experience working with proprietary platforms and tools.
- Understanding of user progression and accessibility principles in immersive environments.
- Working knowledge of VR/AR technologies and user experience design principles.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues within the Holodeck platform.
- Experience with visual scripting tools and game development engines (eg., Unity or Unreal Engine).
- Creative Skills
- A strong sense of visual style and design for creating engaging and immersive experiences.
- Expertise in graphic design, animation, and multimedia production with an eye for a high level of precision.
- Innovative thinking to craft unique and captivating digital content.
- Ability to design user-centric, immersive experiences for diverse audiences.
- Good judgment balancing art and science when visually communicating information
- Storytelling and Data Skills
- Ability to translate complex data into understandable visual narratives.
