Location: Remote-First (Canada)
Salary Range: $36 - $43 per hour

What You’ll Do
- Lead and contribute to innovative projects that deliver real-world impact.

- Participate in team education, knowledge sharing, and process improvement.
- Survey relevant research to identify applicable data sources and open data sources
- Integrate static datasets (e.g., census data, infrastructure grids, demographic attributes) into population models, enhancing their value for downstream applications.
- Build non-generative models to supplement and enrich synthetic populations during key phases of the modeling process.
- Create and enrich synthetic populations, ensuring demographic, geographic, and economic diversity and accuracy
- Ensure differentiation and accuracy in synthetic populations by applying advanced enrichment methods and validating results.
- Maintain a curated catalog of data sources, evaluate their quality, and ensure they align with project goals and applications.
- Push the boundaries of what can be simulated, explained, understood and shared through advanced data analysis and profound data visualization
- Design models and systems of models that interact to recreate real-life systems of systems under known and novel circumstances, infrastructure and people
- Design environments, scenarios, experiments and models
- Use additional sources of data and information to provide arms-length validation of data, models, outcomes and insight
- Use the RWI Symbolic Notation Language (SNL) and supporting tools that enable social scientists and engineers, without programming backgrounds, to implement, test, integrate and validate models, incrementally
- Exercise good judgement and decision making in complex and novel areas of modelling, including seeking input and guidance from team members - use provided tools and training to collaborate around large datasets to measure outcomes, benefits, impacts, indicators that establish baselines, indicators, and forecasts to support actionable recommendations
- Communicate project results and population insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, tailoring outputs for stakeholder needs.
- Apply quantitative methodology to arrive at data-based insight and make data-driven recommendations that influence customer and stakeholder strategy and business decisions through fact-based, data-driven insights and analysis
What You’ll Bring
- You have completed your education in a quantitative field such as computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline. Advanced education or a focus on population modeling, GIS, or data synthesis is an asset.
- You have experience participating in projects in data modeling, data integration, or synthetic population creation, especially with teams from diverse professional backgrounds.
- You are skilled at synthesizing complex datasets into clear, actionable outputs and enriching them with static attributes.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working across disciplines to meet shared goals.
- You are passionate about delivering results that are not only accurate but also impactful and aligned with real-world applications.
- You take full responsibility for the accuracy and quality of your work, ensuring that it is validated thoroughly and no additional rechecking is necessary.
- You are results-oriented and have the ability to tie your activities back to the end goal of the project.
- You are comfortable presenting results and insights to stakeholders, explaining technical details in a way that resonates with non-technical audiences.
