About Seacork:

Seacork Studio is a Vancouver-based startup that makes acoustic panels from seaweed, designed to reduce and store carbon with a circular end-of-life. We help architects and contractors meet acoustic needs and significantly reduce the environmental footprint of interior spaces. We are a passionate, small, interdisciplinary team of designers, engineers, scientists, and ocean advocates rethinking our relationship to materials and the natural world.

The Role:

We’re seeking a Production Technician to support the development, operation, and improvement of Seacork’s pilot production line. This is an in-person role located at our facilities in Vancouver, BC. You’ll play a key role in our manufacturing runs, working closely with the technical team to produce panels, support process development, and ensure consistent quality. This role bridges production and R&D, with a strong focus on hands-on work in our South Vancouver facility. This role will report to Seacork’s Director of Technology, and you will receive training in our materials, processes, and QA/QC systems.

What You’ll Do

Production and Pilot Operations

● Prepare and run formulation batches at pilot scale

● Produce seaweed-based acoustic panels in our production facility

● Support pilot production runs and scale-up activities

● Assist in optimizing workflows, throughput, and process consistency

Process Development and Documentation

● Work with the technical team to test and refine formulations and processes

● Develop and maintain SOPs and production batch records once processes are validated

● Accurately document batch data, observations, and performance

Quality Control

● Perform regular QA/QC on materials and finished panels

● Track consistency, identify issues, and support troubleshooting

● Maintain clear records of inventory, batches, and product performance

Equipment and Facility

● Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment

● Perform basic repairs and coordinate upgrades when needed

● Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production space

Operations and Logistics

● Manage inventory, materials, and supplies

● Support shipping, receiving, and general production logistics

● Contribute to team meetings and provide updates on production progress

Who You Are

Technical Skills

● 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or a similar hands-on role

● Comfortable working with physical materials and large batches

● Familiarity with lab methods, material testing, or process development

● Experience with shop tools (e.g. saws, sanders, drill press) and/or digital fabrication tools (CNC, laser cutter)

● Experience in maintaining or troubleshooting equipment and machinery

● Strong documentation skills (SOPs, logs, reports)

● Practical, solutions-oriented problem solver

● Self-motivated and proactive in a fast-moving environment

● Detail-oriented and organized

● Strong communicator and team player

● Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods

Nice to Have

● Experience with biopolymers, hydrogels, or bio-based materials

● Experience supporting lab-to-pilot scale work

● Interest in sustainable materials and climate solutions

Time + Pay:

● 40 hrs per week

● Salary range: $50,000-60,000
