As QA Manager, you’ll be reporting to the Vice President, Engineering. You will own quality outcomes across the product lifecycle, combining hands-on QA leadership with strong cross-functional collaboration to drive predictable, high-quality releases.

We are open to candidates across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). We are a remote-first company with a head-office in Toronto. We don’t mandate team members to come in on a particular schedule, however we encourage team members to come into the office to foster connection with their colleagues on a schedule that works for them personally.

What you’ll do

  • Own and drive the QA strategy and execution, applying standardized QA practices with a strong focus on automation to ensure consistency across teams
  • Leverage AI-assisted testing and intelligent automation tools to optimize QA workflows, improve test effectiveness, and accelerate feedback cycles across the development lifecycle
  • Ensure timely test planning and execution for all releases, including regression coordination and release quality sign-off
  • Collaborate closely with the Product and Engineering to embed quality early in the development lifecycle
  • Influence without authority and drive alignment with cross-functional teams
  • Drive effective use of test automation as part of the overall quality strategy to improve coverage, speed, and release confidence
  • Continuously evolve processes, tooling, and practices to improve quality, efficiency, and release confidence.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow QA engineers while fostering a strong quality-first culture.
  • Define and track key quality metrics to improve release confidence and reduce defect leakage and support data-informed decision-making.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring QA/SDET engineers, ideally in a player-coach capacity.
  • Experience mentoring others and fostering a culture of ownership, and accountability.
  • Proven ability to own test strategy, release readiness, and regression prevention for complex systems.
  • Comfortable staying hands-on while setting direction and standards for the team.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Tools familiarity with - Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, Python, NodeJs, K6, Linux/Darwin OS’.
  • Strong testing Automation practices are necessary.
  • Nice to Have:
    • Exposure to or interest in applying AI-assisted testing or automation tools to improve test coverage, efficiency, or quality insights.

What does the interview process look like?

Phone Interview – You’ll start with a 15–20-minute phone screen with someone from our Recruitment team to learn more about your background and goals for your next role.

Technical Interview - A formal technical discussion with the Director of Engineering and a Senior QA Engineer, focused on your technical experience and approach to quality and automation.

Practical - A discussion-based practical involving scenario questions to think through and talk through in the next step.

Hiring Manager Interview - A conversation with the VP of Engineering, including a 20-minute discussion focused on practical experience and real-world application.

Culture-Add Interview – This is a 30-minute virtual meeting with either our Chief People & Culture Officer or CEO to learn how your values align with our CCOAR values of Customer Focus, Collaboration, Ownership, Authenticity and Respect.

The listed salary range reflects base pay and may vary based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skill level. Final compensation will be determined after evaluating each applicant’s unique background and skills for the role.
