You will lead Spoonity’s marketing strategy and execution in Latin America, working closely with Sales, RevOps, and Partnerships to align go-to-market priorities, improve lead conversion, and drive measurable pipeline and revenue growth. This role offers the opportunity to build a key function within a fast-scaling startup and directly shape how Spoonity expands its business in the region.

Position Overview

We are seeking an Accountant based in Mexico City to support our rapidly growing Latin American operations. This role is central to maintaining financial accuracy, improving cash flow, and ensuring a world-class billing experience for our clients.

As a key member of the Finance team, you’ll oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, reconciliations, and compliance with Mexican tax regulations. You’ll collaborate closely with Customer Success, Finance, and Sales to resolve discrepancies, and support Spoonity’s continued growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage invoicing and subscription billing for Mexican and Latin American clients in Stripe including creating, pausing, unpausing, and editing subscriptions.
  • Oversee collections and accounts receivable, including aging-report management.
  • Perform reconciliations of multi-currency bank accounts, payment processors, and internal systems.
  • Serve as the primary contact for client billing inquiries, ensuring clear and professional communication in both English and Spanish.
  • Prepare and submit SAT-compliant electronic invoices (CFDI) and support VAT, ISR, and withholding tax filings.
  • Recommend process or system enhancements to improve financial efficiency, internal controls and billing processes.
  • Support compliance with local regulations and contribute to the company’s continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (both written and spoken).
  • Degree or certification in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of Mexican tax and accounting regulations (SAT/CFDI, VAT, ISR, withholding tax).
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing SaaS environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in SaaS or technology companies.
  • Familiarity with subscription-based billing and international accounting operations.
  • Knowledge of Canadian accounting practices is an asset.
  • Experience with Stripe or similar payment processing platforms.
  • Understanding of HubSpot or comparable CRM systems.
