The Role

We are looking for a VP of Strategy & Corporate Development to help accelerate our growth and make a significant impact on our future. If you're a driven, hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments, this is the role for you. You'll be responsible for intelligence, forging new partnerships, and executing our strategic plans. As a member of our Senior Leadership Team you will have responsibilities spanning across business functions, you’ll play a critical role in driving the company’s development and growth through your bold decisions and ability to inspire others.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Strategy Development & Execution: Working with the CSO and Executive Leadership Team, develop and refine the company’s key strategic priorities. Own the company’s strategic planning process, working with senior leadership to set clear short- and medium-term goals and OKRs to deliver on it.

•Fundraising: Partner with the C-suite to drive successful fundraising initiatives, identifying and assessing fit of potential investors and counterparties, working with and directing advisors in processes. Ensure the company’s strategy, business model and financial forecasts are translated into a compelling investment thesis, articulating value proposition and growth potential.

• FP&A: Lead the development of long-term economic forecasting and modeling, ensuring these efforts align with the company’s strategy and business model. Collaborate with Finance to support and align with their annual budgeting process, fostering effective cross-functional integration.

• Intelligence & Analytics: Own the company’s understanding of key competitive and market themes and trends, identifying opportunities and solutions and synthesizing recommendations. Ensure business decisions are driven by analytical insights. Oversee financial models to support business case development in key strategic areas.

• Investor Relations: Engage with investors, working with the C-suite and Investor Relations Manager to foster existing and prospective investor relationships.

• Team Leadership & Collaboration: Act as a constant force for alignment across business units, ensuring all decisions are rooted in strategy and contributing to the company’s goals. Quarterback cross-functional work across diverse teams, contributing to our culture of accountability. Mentor, develop and coach team members to achieve full potential.

• Partnership Building: Work with BD and technical teams to identify, cultivate and consummate new strategic partnerships to advance our mission and objectives.

• Execution Excellence: Lead by example, demonstrating a “roll up your sleeves” mentality to drive execution and overcome obstacles in real-time.

Qualifications

Experience: 12+ years of work experience, ideally including both in top-tier investment banking and/or consulting environment(s) and in high-growth/startup organizations. Strong background in financial modelling, valuation and analysis. Experience in the lithium, critical minerals, battery supply chain, mining, resource project development or EPC industries an asset.

Education: Undergraduate or graduate degree with a focus in Finance, Commerce or Engineering. CFA, CPA and/or CBV designation is desirable.
