The main role of the Dental Assistant is to provide assistance to the dental specialist or hygienist.

• Prepare the operatory for all procedures by ensuring all instruments and materials are present for the procedure.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to ensure that patients are treated at their scheduled time and most efficient manner for their procedure
• Work in collaboration with the health care team
• Perform other duties as required for the efficient operation of the department

Here’s What You’ll Need

• Certification as a Level II Dental Assistant, please indicate this in your application
• Membership in good standing with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association (ODAA)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, preferred
• Ability to assist to the needs of a pediatric population, an asset
• Experience in dental computer software management systems is an asset
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven problem solving and organizational skills
• Ability to work under minimal direction with demonstrated initiative and ability to be self directed, as well as, team player
• Attention to detail and efficient time management skills
• Demonstrated resilience in a changing environment
• Commitment to continuous learning, improvement and evidence-based practice
