Position Description:

The Toronto Region Board of Trade (The Board) is seeking a Digital Applications Lead. Reporting to the Senior Director, Information Technology, this role is responsible for the management, stability, and evolution of the organization’s website, including content creation and editing in the Kentico platform, Azure hosting environment, and related API integrations that support core business systems and digital experiences.

This role blends platform ownership, cloud operations, and hands-on technical capability. The ideal candidate is technically strong, business-minded, and curious—someone who enjoys owning a critical digital platform today while continuing to deepen their skills in .NET development, cloud-native services, and modern integration patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Operations:

  • Own and manage the organization’s Kentico CMS, including configuration, upgrades, performance, security, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Oversee Azure-hosted web applications, ensuring availability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Act as the primary technical lead for the organization’s public-facing and internal web platforms.
  • Establish IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient operations, security compliance, and business continuity.
  • Manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Perform light-to-moderate .NET development to support enhancements, integrations, and troubleshooting.
  • Review code and technical designs from vendors or partners as needed.
    • Ensure AODA compliance.

Technologies:

  • Kentico CMS
  • Microsoft Azure (Web Apps, Azure Front Door, Function Apps, storage, monitoring)
  • .NET / C#
  • REST APIs and integration patterns

Security:

  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect organizational assets and data.
  • Support security audits and risk assessments to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee incident response procedures and security breach investigations.

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable, scalable digital solutions.
  • Direct website-related projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources (internal and external) to ensure successful delivery.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to the Senior Director.

Your experience includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 5+ years of progressive experience working with web platforms, applications, or cloud-hosted systems.
    • Hands-on experience with Kentico CMS required.
    • Experience working in Microsoft Azure, particularly web hosting, required.
  • Working knowledge of .NET / C#, with a desire to continue growing technical depth.
  • Experience designing or supporting API-based system integrations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

You’re often described as:

  • Highly analytical and able to combine strategic thinking with operational excellence
  • Highly organized and strong multitasker with the ability to navigate competing deadlines
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Strong communicator and collaborative with colleagues from all levels and departments
  • Problem solver, agile, and open to changing directions, adopting new practices and continued learning
  • Empathetic and strong interpersonal skills
