Reports to: Clinical Research Nurse Manager
Hours: 37.5 Per Week
Shifts: Monday to Friday
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Closing Date: October 3, 2025

Position Summary:
The Cancer Clinical Research Unit is embarking on the next chapter of development with the Convergence Centre. This Centre will focus on translational medicine in a patient friendly environment. The Clinical Research Study Assistant (CRSA) will provide a customer service role that helps with coordinating activities amongst study personnel and study subjects such as booking appointments; assists the team in ordering to study specific supplies; administrative functions for patient reimbursements; attend team meetings and huddles and may assist with transport of study specimens and medications.

The CRSA applies fundamental knowledge of research principles, theories and concepts; applies knowledge of research regulations and guidelines, such as ICH/GCP guidelines, Tri-Council Policy, Declaration of Helsinki and FDA CFR and Health Canada TPD, as required, knowledge of medical terminology and/or dealing with regulatory issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling study patient appointments
  • Registration of study patients for appointments
  • Ordering study specific and unit supplies
  • Assist with patient reimbursement requests
  • May assist the inter-professional team in performing study specific tasks

Qualifications

  • Community college diploma or equivalent, preferred in a health-related discipline
  • At least (3) three months of related experience, clinical research experience preferred
  • Clinical research experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with a team and independently
  • Highly motivated to work in healthcare
  • Proficiency with MS Office software (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required
  • Experience working in a health care environment preferred
