The Radiation Medicine Program (RMP) at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized Clinical Business Analyst, Quality & Systems Improvement. The incumbent will work under the Senior Manager, Program Strategy and Development and collaboratively with the RMP Data Analytics Leads, to oversee various aspects of the program, including but not limited to bringing their expertise in Quality Management Support in Clinical Systems and Process Improvement and supporting the design and implementation of new digital health solutions and processes, while ensuring data entry processes support reporting requirements.
Position Summary
The Clinical Business Analyst will support the Radiation Medicine Program’s Analytics and Development team by analyzing, interpreting, and reporting clinical and operational data—both routinely and on an ad hoc basis—to inform management and clinical decision-making. This role contributes to benchmarking best practices for operational, clinical, and quality measures; supports special projects; and ensures the accuracy of data submitted to regulatory bodies (e.g., Ontario Health) for reimbursement and quality reporting. The Clinical Business Analyst will also assist with system upgrades and changes, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance business and clinical processes.
Duties
- Apply principles and techniques of data quality, quality improvement, and quality management to assess and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Analyze current clinical systems and workflow processes to identify opportunities for improvement in data entry and process efficiency, while supporting the needs for accurate data reporting
- Support the design and implementation of new digital health solutions and upgrades to hospital information systems (HIS)
- Support evolving changes in data reporting requirements and ensure alignment with data entry processes
- Support the interpretation of Quality Based Procedures (QBP) performance results and root cause analysis
- Develops solutions and designs processes that minimize the quantity of work and create departmental efficiencies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather and document business and clinical requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in a healthcare-related degree, such as Health Informatics, Heath Information Management or a recognized equivalent
- Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare environment, with practical and related experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables and data manipulation
- Understanding of clinical workflows, hospital operations, and healthcare regulations
- Familiar with health care digital solutions or oncology systems (e.g. Epic, MOSAIQ, Aria)
- Proficiency in tools such as Visio and project management tools
- Understanding of quality improvement and data governance principles
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and influence, internally and externally;
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently;
