Department: Geriatrics, MSK, and Multisystem Rehab
Reports to: Manager, Allied Health
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy
Shifts: Days
Status: Permanent Full-Time

As an integral member of the Allied Health Team at UHN, the Operations Lead, Allied Health works in support of and in collaboration with the Allied Health (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, registered dietitian, therapeutic recreation, and social work) clinical team to provide leadership and direction for services.
Duties:
- Maintaining responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the Allied Health Team
- Providing coaching, mentorship, leadership, and direction to the inter-professional and administrative team
- Assuming responsibility for the effective management of patient care and quality
- Managing and developing human resources, including assisting in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring, and providing department orientation, in addition to performance evaluations
- Deploys staff to ensure optimal coverage at all times. Develops strategic plans to optimize utilization of resources
- Performing financial management responsibilities in collaboration with the financial manager/management team
- Performing corporate management responsibilities
- Supports organizational strategies and initiatives (i.e. staff satisfaction) for the development of a motivated and cohesive team who can effectively meet program/service requirements
- Performing cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested; performing other duties consistent to the job classification, as required
- The Operations Lead, Allied Health will have to work closely with the Allied Heath Manager
Qualifications
- At minimum, completion of a master’s degree in a regulated health profession or recognized equivalent required.
- At minimum, over 4 years of practical and related experience required
- Experience in a rehabilitation environment
- Membership in good standing with a Regulated Allied Health Professional College
- Demonstrates strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Adapts to and implements change and facilitates its acceptance by others
- Working knowledge of computers, preferably Microsoft Office and Outlook applications.
- Maintains and protects patient confidentiality in accordance with UHN Confidentiality policy requirements
- Has knowledge of UHN and/or departmental policies, procedures & protocols.
- Has knowledge of applicable legislation affecting human resources (i.e. Human Rights, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.)
- Has knowledge of collaborative networks and integrated health systems
- Excellent recognizing, analyzing and resolving problems skills.
- Excellent decision making skills with the ability to form/defend independent judgment and to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations.
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent skills relating to service orientation, anticipating, recognizing and meeting customer needs required.
- Ability to work in a self directed manner
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards
- Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
- Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand.
