The Michener Institute is looking to recruit a chiropodist/podiatrist as the Clinical Coordinator for the onsite chiropody teaching clinic.
Job Description
Department: Michener's Chiropody Teaching Clinic
Site: The Michener Institute Chiropody Clinic (onsite)
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Salary: $75,807.92 - $94,759.91 per annum (commensurate with experience)
Hours:35 Hours per week
Reporting to the Academic Chair, Foot Care Programs, the Clinic Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the operations and educational activities of the Michener Chiropody Clinic. This role ensures high-quality patient care, provides direct patient care, recruits and supports clinical faculty, and upholds professional standards. The Clinic Coordinator fosters collaboration across academic and clinical teams, contributes to clinic sustainability, and promotes innovation in chiropody education and practice. This position requires the successful applicant to be onsite when the clinic is open.
Position Responsibilities
Reporting to the Academic Chair of Foot Care Programs, the Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Providing direct patient care to ensure high-quality service
- Maintenance of Chiropody equipment
- Overseeing teaching activities within the Michener Chiropody Clinic
- Responding to patient feedback to continuously improve care delivery
- Ensure professional standards of practice are upheld
- Developing and implementing clinic policies and procedures
- Maintaining and reporting statistical data on clinic activities
- Recruiting qualified chiropodists/podiatrists
- Orienting new faculty, staff and students to clinic operations
- Collaborating with faculty to align clinical education with academic standards
- Working with the clinical liaison officer and course leads to ensure students meet clinical competencies
- Providing leadership and support to clinic staff
- Advancing applied health science education in chiropody
- Exploring and integrating new technologies and equipment to enhance practice
- Contributing to the financial sustainability and growth of the clinic
- Committing to Michener’s academic and operational plans
- Serving as the primary contact and advisor for stakeholders
- Building and maintaining partnerships with professional associations
- Collaborating with communications on marketing initiatives
- Representing the Clinic at conferences and professional meetings
- Performing additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Licensed Chiropodist/Podiatrist in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
- Demonstrated experience providing direct clinical care as a practicing chiropodist
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field considered an asset
- Strong organizational, leadership, and time-management skills
- Able to work effectively in a fast-changing environment and adjust priorities as needed
- Can work collaboratively with others and reflect the values of Michener and UHN.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering positive teaching and learning environments
- Excellent judgement and ability to make independent decisions
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships within inter-professional healthcare teams
- Technically proficient with solid computer skills
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated to delivering high-quality care and education
