Position Summary
An exciting opportunity is available to showcase your talents as a Senior Project & Business Process Analyst within the Digital Infrastructure Portfolio. This position will deliver solutions that are patient-centric and data-driven, bring value to our stakeholders, and achieve UHN’s business objectives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing the relocation of teams and their associated IT assets across or within various UHN sites. Additionally, this role requires a high level of independence and collaboration, as the individual will work both autonomously and alongside team members to also support the build and/or deployment of other IT infrastructure components, such as Technology Rooms. This role requires comprehensive project management skills, including requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, change management, detailed planning and coordination, execution, post-implementation support, and financial reconciliation. The successful candidate should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
In addition to relocation projects, the candidate may also oversee and/or support end-to-end initiatives of simple to moderate complexity. These may include clinical practice transformation and standardization, technical implementations, and other strategic enabling projects.
Duties
- Lead moderately complex projects of small to medium scope with a high level of quality
- Analyze business needs, problems, opportunities, and solution scope
- Plan and monitor project progress through milestone tracking, risk and issue mitigation to deliver the project according to planned scope, budget and schedule
- Conduct onsite walkthroughs of the space with key user groups to ensure detailed requirements are collected and documented, and validate onsite after installation.
- Validate user requirements with appropriate business sponsors for accuracy
- Provide consultation and conduct stakeholder meetings to manage objectives, expectations and deficiencies
- Prepare detailed project budgets to align with agreed upon scope
- Prepare comprehensive project plans to ensure effective milestone tracking and project delivery
- Facilitate and conduct project meetings as required; compile meeting minutes and complete timely follow-up of action items
- Facilitate process and design workshops with multidisciplinary groups to identify, validate, and document clinical, business, and technical requirements
- Conduct workflow review and process redesign, and support continuous improvement processes
- Coordinate system design, build, and testing
- Design data collection processes, collect and analyze data, and lead data reporting and visualization activities
- Coordinate with business teams, contractors, consultants, vendors, and suppliers to provide regular project status updates
- Apply rigorous project management techniques to assist in the management of project plans, schedules, status reports, and budgets
- Monitor the progress and quality of work associated with project outcomes
- Apply sound change management techniques for effective stakeholder engagement and communications, training, and implementation support
- Develop adequate level of knowledge of the subject matter and digital systems being implemented to effectively move projects forward
Undertake projects and/or other duties as assigned by the Sr. Project Manager, with the appropriate training and guidance
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics or Administration, Technology, Science, Business, or related field required
- Minimum 3 years of Project Management, Business Process/Analysis, and Data Analysis experience or equivalent required
- Sound knowledge of project management standards (project planning, implementation, evaluation, risk assessment, benefits realization) required
- Experience leading project workstreams or small projects independently, and either supervising or influencing project team members is required
- Experience in leading and conducting workflow analysis, value stream mapping, data mapping, and Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles required
- Experience leading and performing application testing (e.g. unit, regression, acceptance testing) preferred
- Experience in applying change management methodologies and tools an asset
- Experience in delivering management-level presentations, training and/or end user support an asset
- Experience with hardware and/or software vendor relations an asset
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Change Management certification an asset
- Clinical training and experience with electronic patient record systems an asset
- Familiarity with healthcare information systems, interfaces, HL7, ITIL, data centre, network infrastructure, and/or enterprise architecture an asset
