Job Summary:
The Quality Coordinator, Cell Therapy Clinical Research will promote a culture of quality and standards of excellence for Immuno Effector Cell therapies in the content of clinical research. The Quality Coordinator requires past experience in the coordination and administration of clinical studies (implements and coordinates all aspects of data collection and source documentation, as per UHN policy and ICH/GCP guidelines; identification problems using assessment skills, execution study-related administrative tasks, such as collection of regulatory documents, ethics submissions, adverse events, monitoring safety, medication, assessment of study-related literature; and liaison with sponsors and external stakeholder) and builds on this experience to facilitate, mentor and enhance quality, standardization and productivity in for Immuno Effector Cell therapy clinical research.
Duties:
- Work in collaboration with key program stakeholders and promote a culture of quality and standards of excellence
- Responsible to ensure that for Immuno Effector Cell therapy clinical trials meet the quality and compliance requirements as required by various regulatory agencies including Health Canada, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), and the Centre for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) for the purposes of seeking and maintaining accreditation
- Developing and revising standard operating procedures, tools and templates.
This position will utilize the knowledge of clinical study management to carry out new initiatives in the CCRU. The quality coordinator will provide education and support to investigators, managers, clinical research professionals, scientists and laboratory personnel regarding quality, FACT standards; and lead, conduct or monitor as assigned quality and manufacturing audits to provide data in line with reporting requirements; lead or participate in the review of non-compliance issues for the purpose of providing recommendations for system learning and improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in health related field or equivalent
- Minimum four (4) years appropriate clinical and/or professional experience
- Recognized certification in clinical research (ACRP or SOCRA) preferred
- Knowledge regarding Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and Foundation for the Accreditation Cellular Therapy (FACT) standards governing the collection, processing and transplantation of cellular therapy products – preferred
- Well-developed leadership skills
- Excellent project management skills

- Demonstrated ability to express complex technical concepts effectively
