Shifts: Monday to Friday 10am-2pm
Status: Permanent Part Time

Position Summary
Join Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Lodge, PM Lodge is a self-care facility for out-of-town cancer patients who come to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre or Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre for treatment.
Administrative Assistant Level 1 is providing support with over the phone communications and general inbox inquiries.
Duties
- Performing reception responsibilities including managing incoming referrals, completing callback’s and entering booking information on a daily basis
- Assisting with data tracking and analytics for OH reporting
- Administering and monitoring billing procedures and budgeting records including reimbursements
- Providing word processing/typing services for assigned personnel
- Maintaining written and/or electronic calendar schedules
- Providing support with small and/ or informal meetings/ events
- Maintaining and modifying confidential medical electronic/paper filing/retrieval methods, systems, and/or formats
- Ensuring the efficient operation of the office
- Performing other related clerical activities
- Performing cross-functional responsibilities, as assigned
- Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
To be considered for this role, you must have significant experience in managing time and tasks within an extremely busy office environment. You have excellent MS Office applications skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively. The successful candidate will show initiative, flexibility and be a team player. They will remain calm under pressure and be confident in their ability to critically think and preform well in the job.
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
- Completion of recognized medical office administration program at the diploma level or equivalent
- Completion of a medical terminology course
- Minimum 2 years related medical administrative support experience
- Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience, in a Microsoft Office Environment preferred
- EPIC and Room Master experience and asset
- Strong command of medical terminology
- Must possess good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Must possess exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Experience working in a health care environment preferred
- Experience working in a teaching hospital environment preferred
- Knowledge of general office practices, procedures and standards
