Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Receptionist will provide reception coverage and all related duties to the Michener Institute.
Responsibilities:
- Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries.
- Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories, giving instructions.
- Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring logbook; issuing visitor badges.
- Maintains telecommunication system by following manufacturer's instructions for house phone and console operation.
- Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Field questions regarding facilities related concerns, document requests into the work order program and dispatch work accordingly.
- Coordinate building door sign program, taxi chit program, building phone list and internal key list.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years experience in customer service environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer/student focus
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Good judgment and independent decision-making skills
- Satisfactory Canadian Police Clearance document required upon hire
