Shifts: Days, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Status: Temporary Full-Time, until March 26, 2027

Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Manager of Clinical Learner Education and indirectly to the Director of Postgraduate Medical Education, the Education Coordinator is responsible for organizing and administrating Postgraduate Medical Education at UHN. This role additionally provides support to the Wightman-Berris Academy Director, works with academic partners, internal staff, and program leadership, and provides exceptional customer service to diverse learners coming to UHN for clinical placements.
This position may involve working on special projects, innovative education support initiatives, and other medical education and student services duties as assigned. Strong preference will be given to applicants with Medical Education and/or Student Academic Education related experience.
Duties
- Provide administrative support in the department including providing assistance with functions related to Medical Residents, Clinical Fellows, Medical Students and other learners (e.g. nursing, health professions, observers) at multiple sites
- Provide assistance with functions related to medical learners at multiple sites; and coordinates day-to-day operations in the department including focused support with registration/orientation and block changeovers for postgraduate medical education.
- Support key data related functions for postgraduate medical education such as medical trainee days (MTD) reporting, reimbursements for pagers, and ‘safe ride home.’
- Further, this role will require strong knowledge of UHN hospitals, the resources and supports available to students, knowledge of current trends in healthcare and education, and effective communication to all internal and external parties.
- General responsibilities also include ensuring teaching facilities are appropriately set up for education sessions; supporting medical education events; arranging meetings; minute taking; database maintenance; maintaining electronic calendar and schedules; room booking; and representation of committees related the portfolio.

- A college diploma or university degree (preferred) with relevant work experience
- Experience working within health care and education, preferably in a hospital environment
- Strong teamwork skills and works well in a team setting
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Well developed interpersonal and customer service skills
- Exemplary customer services skills with excellent planning, writing, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks
- Ability to identify opportunities to change or improve processes to optimize the learner experience
- Strong computer skills; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Microsoft Word
- Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with Hospital standards
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure, while being adaptable and flexible
- Demonstrated ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
- Ability to effectively handle confidential matters and materials
- Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
