Position Summary
About AGE-WELL: AGE-WELL is Canada’s technology and aging network. We have mobilized a vast community of researchers, partner organizations, older adults, caregivers, and future leaders to accelerate the delivery of technology-based solutions that make a meaningful difference in the lives of Canadians. Supported by three federal investments and partner contributions, AGE-WELL is driving impact across a trilogy of pillars – research, capacity building and adoption. Together, these pillars support a strong innovation pipeline from foundational research to technology adoption. With its partner MEDTEQ+, AGE-WELL co-leads envisAGE, a national initiative focused on the implementation and adoption of AgeTech across Canada.

Functioning as a member of the management and operation teams of AGE-WELL, and a multi-institutional Pan-Canadian innovation program (envisAGE), the Project Management Leader brings expertise in supporting and managing projects as well as stakeholder relations. The primary responsibility in this role entails supporting projects funded through the envisAGE program. The successful candidate will oversee projects that connect small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) developing AgeTech solutions, adoption partners and evaluation partners within the envisAGE program. The Project Management Leader will guide projects and project teams consisting of industry, adoption sites, and evaluators. This will include involvement in a full project cycle including creation of the project, managing progress and risks, overseeing expense claim submission and ensuring reporting requirements are met.

The Project Management Leader will work alongside other members of the AGE-WELL and envisAGE teams to meet the diverse project management and implementation needs of our project collaborators and other network members. The Project Management Leader will also act as an external liaison with partners and stakeholders and will help with onboarding new partners into our networks.

Duties
Helps to build projects for envisAGE and grow our network by:

  • Onboarding of new partners into the AGE-WELL network and envisAGE projects.
  • Supporting connections and communication between potential and confirmed envisAGE project stakeholders (e.g., Small and medium-sized enterprises, technology adoption partners, evaluators and Innovation Hubs).
  • Helping to follow up on Expressions of Interest and other leads.
  • Evaluating Letters of Intent and supporting applicants who are developing full proposals.
  • Supporting due diligence of SMEs.

Manages ongoing envisAGE projects by:

  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration between project collaborators, researchers, and envisAGE program stakeholders.
  • Ensuring reporting requirements are met.
  • Supporting quarterly expense claims for active projects together with the envisAGE claims team.
  • Monitoring adherence to project timelines, identifying issues and risks within active projects, helping to resolve issues or escalating them as needed;
  • Helping to anticipate and respond to partner and project stakeholder concerns and challenges.

Supports overall envisAGE program by:

  • Working collaboratively with other envisAGE team members in support of specific stakeholders when needed.
  • Contributing to the envisAGE program, including successful calls for innovation, Annual Forum, informational and networking virtual events and webinars.

Participates in broader AGE-WELL Network Management Office initiatives.

  • Supports AGE-WELL's responsibility to partners belonging to the AGE-WELL Network.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, a completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Health Sciences, Engineering, Gerontology, etc.) is required;
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in project management, research management / administration or equivalent position;
  • Proficiency in establishing rapport with diverse stakeholders including: startups, entrepreneurs, researchers and organizations serving older adults in a variety of settings;
  • Highly competent and effective presentation and meeting facilitation skills including the ability to present and discuss complex information in a way that establishes rapport, influences others and enables understanding;
  • Experience in client recruitment, support and retention;
  • Experience working on the implementation of technology is a significant asset;
  • Adaptable and flexible to project needs and timelines;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize;
  • Being attentive to detail and process-oriented are essential;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Coachable with a passion for ongoing learning; and
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
