University Health Network (UHN) is seeking an experienced professional to join the FM-PRO team as a Project Coordinator II, Space and Wayfinding.
As an integral member of the Planning team, the Project Coordinator supports the planning, design, and implementation of space and wayfinding projects across clinical, administrative, and support environments. This role blends technical drafting expertise with project coordination to ensure space solutions are accurate, efficient, and aligned with healthcare regulatory, operational, and safety requirements. The position reports to the Manager, Space Operations and operates in a hybrid model with required on-site presence.
Key Responsibilities
Space Planning & CAD
- Develop, update, and maintain accurate CAD drawings, floor plans, equipment layouts, and workplace standards.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into clear space plans, test fits, and adjacency diagrams.
- Ensure drawings comply with the Ontario Building Code, infection-prevention practices, accessibility requirements, and organizational standards.
- Maintain version control and drawing documentation.
- Update and maintain the Archibus Space Module (Integrated Workplace Management System – IWMS).
Space Analysis & Project Support
- Support space utilization studies, headcount analysis, and functional programming.
- Assist in developing layout scenarios for clinics, workplace reconfigurations, and departmental relocations.
- Review existing spaces to identify risks, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare diagrams, block plans, metrics, and visual materials to support project decision-making.
- Lead space planning activities for planning and construction projects.
Wayfinding & Signage
- Assist in developing and updating wayfinding strategies, signage proposals, and circulation maps.
- Design and coordinate signage production for new builds, renovations, and relocations, ensuring accessibility and clarity for patients, families, and staff.
- Conduct signage audits to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and outdated information.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Perform financial tasks related to space and wayfinding projects (e.g., purchase orders, cost tracking).
- Complete administrative duties to support the effective operation of the department.
- Perform cross-functional and other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of a University Degree or College Diploma, preferably in Interior Design, Architectural or Engineering Technology, or an equivalent field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro).
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent time-management and organizational abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and issue-resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is an asset.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment is an asset.
- Experience with Revit/BIM is an asset.
