Position Summary:
The Clinical Research Study Assistant will support research initiatives across various clinical departments at UHN by coordinating the day-to-day operations of assigned clinical trials and research studies. This includes participant recruitment, data collection and entry, regulatory submissions, and collaboration with clinical and research teams to ensure protocol compliance and research integrity.

Duties

  • Recruit, screen, and consent study participants in accordance with study protocols and REB guidelines
  • Schedule and coordinate participant visits, procedures, and assessments
  • Assist in the collection, processing, and secure storage of biological samples (if applicable)
  • Maintain essential documents and prepare regulatory submissions to UHN Research Ethics Board (REB)
  • Monitor and report adverse events in compliance with ICH-GCP and Health Canada regulations
  • Liaise with sponsors and hospital departments to support study logistics and timelines
  • Prepare materials for audits, site visits, and monitoring
  • Participate in research meetings and contribute to study progress reports
  • Applies straightforward technical knowledge and skills to perform well
  • Defined, routine and/or repetitive tasks

Qualifications

  • Community college diploma in a health-related discipline, or equivalent is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Life Sciences, Nursing, or a related discipline is preferred
  • 3 to 6 months of related experience is required
  • Familiarity with UHN's research infrastructure, including eREB, EPIC, and hospital-based workflows, is a strong asset
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Applies knowledge of IATA shipping regulations and basic laboratory procedures, as required
