Position Summary
The Clerical Assistant II provides advanced administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of assigned departments or programs.
Duties
- Interact with technical, medical and management staff in addition to external clients and partnering hospitals
- Have opportunity to exercise judgment and decision-making in the provision of moderately complex support service, including:
- Performing clerical, statistical and financial processing activities
- Proofreading, typing/word processing and inputting data/information
- Providing support with the maintenance of electronic and paper information filing/retrieval methods, systems and/or formats
- Provide support for Referral and data entry for Cardiac Registries and databases.
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
- Six (6) months recent related experience
- Previous on-the-job computer/word processing and database software experience
- Experience in a Microsoft Office software environment, preferred
- Experience working in a health care environment, an asset
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good telephone, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to produce work in accordance with Hospital standards
- Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
- Ability to perform routine work independently
- General knowledge of processes, procedures and standards
- Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
