Position Summary
The UHN RCC is a multi-tenant facility hosting approximately 188 reactivation care beds from multiple hospital providers within a single location. As a subject matter expert for the management and administration of technologies at the RCC, the Technical Analyst, RCC Facility Support, ensures that service levels are maintained for UHN and other building tenants in accordance with respective lease agreements and service level objectives. The Technical Analyst resolves difficult problems quickly and efficiently as they relate to business services, specifically by coordinating and providing service and support for facility-provided technology platforms (IT and OT), including hardware, software, system administration, network, and helpdesk support. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer/vendor contacts is required: this role works with vendors, service providers, and other partners to ensure the smooth operation of the above technologies. This role requires an ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience. In addition to their core responsibilities, the Technical Analyst may be required to perform cross-functional or other duties as assigned or requested.
Duties
- Supports applications, operations and/or information management services by providing business management or technical consultation relating to the business services area.
- May assist in all aspects of system generation including tuning and upgrades.
- Supports ICAT (Integrated Communications & Technology) systems to ensure continuity of operational technologies across the facility.
- Executes ITSM processes such as incident management, service request management, change coordination, and documentation to support consistent and reliable IT service delivery.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of problem analysis and resolution techniques.
- Handles complex production and operational problems in an expedient and efficient manner, requiring individual judgement and latitude for independent action to solve problems within generally defined policies and procedures.
- Analyzes and proposes system development tasks for recommendation of software packages and/or upgrades.
- Informs management of potential service level problems before they occur and communicates solutions.
- Prepares standard project plans, schedules and status reports as required.
- Initiates new or improves existing policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Completion of an undergraduate degree program in business, information management, engineering, computer science or recognized equivalent required.
- 2 to 3 years practical and related experience and/or on-the-job training required.
- Sound knowledge of and applicable industry experience in support of facility operations platforms and technologies
- Experience supporting ICAT‑related systems such as nurse call, security/CCTV, IPTV, RTLS, Patient Entertainment Systems, and other facility operational technologies.
- Strong ability to triage technical issues by assessing severity, determining root cause direction, and assigning or escalating to the appropriate support team or vendor.
- Working knowledge of operating systems/servers
- Knowledge of project management practices and proficient use of project tools such as MS Project
- Experience supporting business applications in a client server environment
- Experience with business systems analysis and problem resolution
- Ability to perform moderately complex application testing, data analysis and/or system analysis
- Excellent customer relations and support service
- Excellent problem recognition and problem solving abilities
- Excellent analytical, prioritization, and organization skills
- Excellent presentation, technical writing, and/or training skills
