UHN Medical Solutions is a division of Altum Health focused on commercial revenue generation. It includes a number of revenue generating programs for UHN, including the UHN International Patient Program, Patient Ambassador Program, Virtual Urgent Care Services, and other private pay patient services. UHN Medical Solutions supports UHN’s Vision of a Healthier World while generating ancillary revenue that is reinvested back into UHN for the benefit of OHIP patients and Ontario health system stakeholders.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager position reports to the Senior Program Manager, UHN Medical Solutions and will be responsible for supporting program expansion and development of new business lines for UHN Medical Solutions.

We are looking for a talented and passionate individual to work alongside the leadership team as we expand and sustain integrated models of care.

This role will have a breadth of experience in delivering transformative care solutions to a variety of stakeholders through planning and leading teams through all phases of the project lifecycle. The Project Manager should have strong change management and facilitation skills, be able to navigate ambiguity with ease, and find clarity for the team.

Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills are essential to coordinate with various stakeholders and drive project success. The successful candidate will be highly effective at planning, implementing and delivering projects within an inter-disciplinary team environment.

RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE:

  • Lead large scope projects throughout project life cycle, managing multiple projects and priorities concurrently with the ability to reshuffle priorities as they shift with guidance and collaboration with Senior Program Manager
  • Manage project activities related to scope, schedule, resources, communications, risk, financial budget and development of resulting project documentation
  • Establish detailed project plan to articulate time, budget, resources, scope and risks in projects
  • Successfully plan, implement and deliver projects within an inter-disciplinary team environment
  • Apply change management and communication strategies to multiple stakeholders and organizations throughout projects
  • Handle unusually complex problems and provides highly innovative and creative solutions that will achieve quality and work process improvements
  • Stay up to date on industry news in order to support the development of business case and new project proposals
  • Manage risks by balancing scope/quality/deadlines, taking early action to resolve problems, and escalate risks in a timely and concise manner to Senior Program Manager with proposed solutions for discussion
  • Demonstrate an excellent ability to summarize key information in a succinct way to foster collaboration, overcome barriers, and optimize complex workflows
  • Develop and present material (e.g. business cases, meeting decks, status reports) for review and informational purposes using excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to express complex technical concepts effectively
  • Work in a self-directed manner, ensuring successful completion of milestones, objectives, deliverables and achieving long-term desired results

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of project management experience or equivalent is required
  • Experience with project planning, implementation and developing business cases and briefing notes
  • Experience in developing and executing communications, engagement and adoption plans (e.g., stakeholder analysis, communication strategies and tactics, awareness campaigns, gathering user feedback)
  • Experience with marketing, insurance, private pay, and commercial partnerships preferred
  • Strong presentation, writing, stakeholder engagement skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Informatics, Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline from an accredited institution is required
  • Master’s degree in Health/Hospital Administration, Business Administration or related field is preferred;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and Change Management Certification preferred

SKILLS:

  • Excellent ability to anticipate and analyze risks and issues, explore alternatives, develop appropriate recommendations with project, clinical and technical teams and present issues to senior leadership;
  • Strong tactical and critical strategic thinking ability
  • Proven ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic project environment
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects, prioritize multiple conflicting priorities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analytics including experience with developing data reports, charts and diagrams and balanced scorecards
  • Self-directed, with ability to produce high quality reports within tight timelines
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, MS Visio, MS Office)
