Position Summary
UHN is seeking a Salesforce Business Analyst to support and evolve Salesforce-based solutions used for research administration and research operations.

Supporting the Salesforce Product Manager, this role will act as a critical bridge between research stakeholders and the Salesforce platform team. The successful candidate will translate research business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions that improve researcher experience, operational efficiency, compliance, and data quality across the research lifecycle.

Duties

  • Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Partner with research stakeholders including Research Finance, Grants & Contracts, Institutional Authorization, and other research operations to understand business processes and pain points.
    • Elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements for research-focused Salesforce solutions.
    • Translate requirements into user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
  • Salesforce Solution Support
    • Configure and enhance Salesforce Service Cloud and Experience Cloud features supporting research use cases (objects, fields, flows, validation rules, page layouts, reports, dashboards).
    • Support research workflows such as grant administration, financial tracking, approvals, compliance obligations, and researcher self-service.
    • Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT), release validation, and production support.
  • Delivery & Governance
    • Work closely with Salesforce Administrators, Developers, and Product Owners to ensure solutions align with platform standards and research governance.
    • Support backlog refinement, prioritization, and sprint planning activities.
    • Maintain high-quality documentation of requirements, configurations, and business processes.
  • Adoption & Continuous Improvement
    • Support onboarding and change management for research users.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline research processes and improve data quality through Salesforce.
    • Act as a trusted advisor on Salesforce capabilities within the research context.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Administration, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise applications (CRM/Case Management platforms strongly preferred) required
  • Demonstrated experience translating complex stakeholder needs into clear requirements (user stories, process maps, functional specs, acceptance criteria) required
  • Hands-on familiarity with Salesforce capabilities (objects/data model, security concepts, reporting, and automation such as Flows), with the ability to work effectively alongside Admins/Developers required
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, including running working sessions with research stakeholders and documenting outcomes required
  • Experience supporting testing activities (UAT planning, test scripts, defect triage) and enabling successful releases required
  • Salesforce certification (Administrator and/or Business Analyst) an asset
  • Experience working in Agile/product delivery (backlog refinement, sprint planning, iterative delivery) an asset
  • Familiarity with integration patterns and downstream reporting/analytics needs (e.g., data platforms, BI teams), including data quality and governance considerations an asset
