Status: Temporary Part-time (12 Months)

Position Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with prior clinical trials experience to join our research team. Working under the direction of the Principal Investigators, the successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and coordination of a variety of database projects and clinical trials.

Duties

• Execute study-related administrative tasks, including collating regulatory documents, preparing submissions to the Research Ethics Board and other regulatory agencies, and completing study CRFs, logs, and database entries in a timely manner.
• Plan, implement, and coordinate all aspects of study visits, including scheduling patient appointments, documenting adverse events and concomitant medications, and administering cognitive assessments.
• Support study recruitment by identifying eligible participants, obtaining informed consent, and collecting demographic and clinical data in accordance with study protocols.
• Coordinate and implement all aspects of data collection and source documentation in compliance with UHN policies and ICH/GCP guidelines.
• Collect, manage, and maintain study data, including video recording, accurate data entry, creating and upkeep of study databases with a high level of precision.
• Perform venipuncture to collect blood samples, process specimens, and package and ship samples to study vendors according to protocols and SOPs.
• Liaise with CROs, sponsors, external stakeholders, and members of the clinical research team.
• Prepare for and support monitoring visits and audits in collaboration with CROs and sponsors.
• Organize and participate in ongoing study meetings.
• Contribute to protocol development and study planning activities.
• Assist with statistical analyses and prepare statistical, status, and other data reports as needed.
• Support the preparation of presentation materials and progress reports for stakeholders.
• Perform cross-functional responsibilities and other duties aligned with the role as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a health or science-related field or equivalent is required
• Minimum of 1-2 years clinical research experience and experience with patient contact
• Prior experience in the coordination and administration of clinical trials
• Experience with research regulatory submissions is a strong asset
• Phlebotomy certification preferred
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification preferred
• Knowledge of IATA (International Air Transport Association) shipping regulations and laboratory procedures preferred
• Previous experience with neurological clinical trials and/or PI initiated trials preferred
• Knowledge of research regulations and guidelines, such as ICH/GCP guidelines, Tri-Council Policy, Declaration of Helsinki and FDA CFR and Health Canada TPD
• Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
