Position Summary

The Power Platform Citizen Developer uses Microsoft Power Platform tools to design, build, and maintain low-code/no-code solutions that improve business processes and productivity in the Patient Experience Portfolio. Working closely with business informants, this role turns business needs into secure, scalable apps, automations, and reports—without traditional software development. This role will be focused on supporting the UHN Patient Education collection, the development of portfolio data dashboards and other Digital projects related to Patient Experience. Citizen Developers follow organizational governance, security, and data standards while enabling innovation at the departmental level.

Duties

  • Design and build Power Apps (Canvas and/or Model-driven) to solve business problems
  • Create and maintain Power Automate flows to automate manual or repetitive processes
  • Gather requirements from business users and translate them into functional solutions
  • Collaborate with patient experience teams, peers, subject matter experts and UHN Digital; Oversee and implement testing, user acceptance, and production deployment
  • Governance and compliance

Qualifications

  • Minimum completion of a 2-year community college program in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or recognized equivalent
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Dataverse, Power BI, or AI Builder
  • Familiarity with Power Platform governance models and environment strategies
  • Understanding of basic security and compliance concepts
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., PL-100, PL-200)
  • Experience working in an enterprise or regulated environment
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Power Apps through hands-on experience
  • Skilled in designing workflows with Power Automate
  • Solid understanding of data concepts, including tables, relationships, and permission structures
  • Capable of integrating with Microsoft 365 services, such as SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive
  • Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting abilities across Power Apps and Power Automate platforms
  • Adept at diagnosing and resolving issues related to data, permissions, connectors, and logic
  • Utilizes logs, run history, and systematic testing to identify root causes of problems
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Good communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences)
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
