Salary: $109,162 – $159,162 annual

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Position Summary

As an integral leadership member of Medical Imaging leadership team, the Manager, Quality & Practice is accountable for facilitating staff participation in learning, development and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the goals of the Medical Imaging department.

Working together with department leaders, the Manager develops, implements, and manages short- and long-term plans which support and advance strategic priorities of the Medical Imaging department and TeamUHN.

This post focuses on patient safety and quality, use of technology to enable care, teaching, and research. This position serves to develop and motivate a cohesive team and assist in identifying and supporting educational strategies to enhance staff knowledge with respect to professional practice and patient care.

Duties

  • Manage the development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of quality improvement initiatives which are in alignment with established UHN standards and Program priorities
  • Collaborate with program leadership to ensure that an appropriate quality program, along with quality improvement indicators and measurement tools tailored to the department’s needs, is designed and implemented
  • Facilitate educational strategies and actively participates in the coordination and/or delivery of education sessions/seminars
  • Lead organizational strategies and initiatives, i.e. patient satisfaction, accreditation etc. and manages the development and implementation of departmental quality improvement processes
  • Develop, implement, and manage short and long-term strategic priorities and quality improvement initiatives in Medical Imaging and TeamUHN
  • Collaborate with program practice and operational leadership in the development of models of care that align with patient care requirements and in response to changing system requirements
  • Evaluate current and future practices based on health care trends, changing patient demographics, and care requirements to implement-revised processes and practices in conjunction with local, regional, and national standards and guidelines
  • Monitor changing priorities, trends, legislative requirements and/or other internal and external emerging issues and analyzes the potential impact on departmental goals, priorities and activities. Recommend and/or implements appropriate strategies to achieve desired results
  • Initiate and develop respectful and collaborative working relationships internally and externally


Qualifications

  • Completion of a Masters degree in a business, public health, health administration, or equivalent
  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment
  • In-depth knowledge of the Medical Imaging field
  • 10 years experience in leadership roles
  • Experience working with personnel at senior levels
  • Completion of a recognized program in a medical imaging discipline, preferred
  • Membership with appropriate professional body, preferred
  • Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Ability to take a creative and proactive approach to problem recognition, solving and conflict resolution
  • Excellent team building, management and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem solving-skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
