Position Summary
The Driscoll Family Digestive Health Centre at UHN is one of the leading centres for the diagnosis and management of digestive health disorders in Canada. In the motility research lab, we perform clinical research examining various aspects in the diagnosis and management of disorders of gut brain interaction such as irritable bowel syndrome. The students who will take these roles will be involved in performing research studies examining the use of and role of technology in the diagnosis of and management of patients with disorders of gut brain interaction. The student will work within a multidisciplinary team to gain hands on experience in conducting clinical research.
Duties
- Be involved in the design of novel clinical research studies involving the use of AI and social media in disorders of gut brain interaction
- Be involved in interacting with and submitting studies to the research ethics board.
- Conducting studies both with patient and with AI models
- Perform data analysis
- Conduct literature reviews regarding technology in the field of disorders of gut brain interaction
- Prepare presentations and manuscripts summarizing research findings
Qualifications
- Must be 16 years of age or older, per UHN policy
- Ideally, enrolled in a MD program
- Interest in clinical research, technology including AI and/or social media
- Experience with clinical research, data analysis is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
