Reports to: Manager, Resource Team
Hours: Weekdays, Weekends, Statutory Holidays, Day/Eve rotation, 6am - 2pm or 2pm - 10pm
Wage Range: $27.45 - $27.98 per hour. Start rate non-negotiable.
Hours: 24 hr/week
Status: Temporary Part-Time (approximately 12 months)

Position Summary
As an integral member of the West Park Staffing Resource Team, the Support Assistant ensures the efficient operation of the staffing program by managing scheduling, administration, and team communication.
Duties
- Key responsibilities include ensure equitable shift distribution among nursing staff and Client Care Attendants (CCAs) across inpatient units
- Strategically deploying Staffing Resource Team personnel to fill coverage gaps.
- Scheduling and providing essential clerical, reception, and administrative support for the Staffing Office, which includes utilizing spreadsheet and database software to compile and track operational data.
- Coordinates seamlessly with hospital personnel, delivers training and orientation to onboarding team members, and undertakes cross-functional responsibilities as required to support the department’s overall success.
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or a recognized equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related office/clerical experience required.
- Previous experience working within a healthcare facility is preferred.
- Strong experience in a Microsoft Office/Windows environment, with a required working knowledge of computer databases, spreadsheets, and word-processing.
- Fast and accurate word processing/typing skills of at least 60 w.p.m. required.
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills required.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required.
- Proven ability to work independently, perform duties in a self-directed manner, and thrive under pressure.
- Working knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and standards preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team player preferred.
- Prior experience in staff scheduling is considered a strong asset.
- Working knowledge of collective agreements as they relate to staffing and scheduling is an asset.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is an asset.
