OVERVIEW:

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine , University of Toronto invites applications for the position of Research Associate to investigate Pharmacokinetic variation in human drug samples.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates require a Ph.D. with at least 4 years of research expertise in population and individual pharmacokinetics, quantitative system Pharmacology and Baysesian statistics and have some general programming skills (e.g. PopPK, PBPK, Phoenix, SimCYP and similar software, R). Candidates must also have a strong and long-standing track record of publication and experience in designing, planning, and executing experiments, as well as data analysis, interpretation, quantification, and figure preparation for grants and manuscripts. Candidates will also be involved in supervising students and postdoctoral fellows, preparing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed publications/journals, assisting with grant application preparation, and presenting findings at meetings and conferences. Strong orgazational and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a large multi-collaborative laboratory.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Develop and conduct independent research in population pharmacokinetics in animal and human sample sets.
  • Contribute directly to research via experimental design, execution, interpretation, and write-up.
  • Liaise with collaborators and assist in the compilation, analysis, and reporting of research findings to researchers within and outside the program.
  • Prepare manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed publications/journals.
  • Present findings at local, national, and international conferences.
  • Prepare research proposals for submission to granting agencies and report on progress.
  • Provide general laboratory biosafety and maintenance, including inventories, equipment repair, ordering, and shipping reagents.
  • Train other lab members.

At all times, the individual will be expected to support the overall research and teaching missions of the lab.
