Your opportunity:

We are seeking a creative and strategic digital and multimedia specialist to lead videography, photography, and digital storytelling initiatives. This role is ideal for a visually driven professional who can translate strategic communications goals into compelling multimedia content across multiple channels.

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing Communications & Strategic Initiatives and working as part of the OSEW Marketing and Communications Team, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the University to conceptualize, produce, and deliver high-quality visual content that enhances brand identity, engages audiences, and achieves desired results.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a plan for the use of multimedia that supports strategic communications objectives
  • Conducting photography and/or videography shoots
  • Planning and developing pre-production video ideas into outlines, scripts, and story boards
  • Editing post-production audio and/or visual material (e.g. optimizing video for social media)
  • Producing promotional and outreach materials
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding story development and cross-promotion activities
  • Designing graphic elements for digital and online media
  • Maintaining a repository of digital media records

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in interactive media/multimedia digital design and production (professional videography, audio and photography), or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of work-related experience in professional photography, videography and audio production, digital content creation, and graphic design
  • Experience creating both short and long form content for digital and broadcast platforms
  • Advanced skills and experience with audio/video software: Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, Audition, Media Encoder, or comparable software
  • Expert experience in sound and lighting design, colour correction, colour grading, audio mixing, and creating original animation and digital graphics
  • Advanced experience using video production equipment, including DSLR cameras, mixers, editors, microphones and audio equipment
  • Experience with graphic design, including motion graphics and animation
  • Experience preparing subjects for on-screen appearances and interviews
  • Experience maintaining a repository of digital content and managing online media (e.g. digital media bank, stock photos/video, YouTube)
  • Experience with livestreaming and virtual event technologies (such as Zoom, YouTube, Instagram, etc.)
  • Experience adhering to brand identity guidelines and AODA accessibility guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work with clients to create story ideas and produce professional visual, audio and digital content
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and Canva
  • Experience using project management programs (e.g. Asana, Basecamp)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Sound knowledge of accessibility standards (AODA) and digital media best practices
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule in order to work after hour events
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and projects
