Your opportunity:

At the Department of Management, we pride ourselves on educating and preparing students for leadership positions in the world of business. With our wide range of specializations and course offerings, we give students the opportunity to acquire critical skills and the expertise required for successful careers. As a member of our highly collaborative Undergraduate Program Office team, you will work to ensure our courses and programs are cutting edge and in-line with industry changes and needs. Through constant evaluation of our programs, speaking with students and alumni, working with faculty and researching best practices, you will help contribute to an excellent academic experience and impact the lives of countless B.Com and BBA students.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising students on program and/or course requirements by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
  • Advising students on academic and/or financial matters while considering personal circumstances impacting academic success
  • Providing detailed information to students on program and/or course eligibility, requirements, procedures, policies, and deadlines
  • Reviewing and assessing proposals for minor modifications to programs and courses
  • Analyzing and making recommendations for program enhancements
  • Writing and editing reports to support curriculum initiatives, including expressions of interest and other major curriculum modifications, and creating curriculum maps

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years related experience in a responsible administrative support role, performing data management and complex coordination.
  • Experience with curriculum design and evaluation, committee support and report writing.
  • Proven ability in advising and providing guidance to students.
  • Experience with enrollment planning and associated processes.
  • Experience with course scheduling and time tabling.
  • Experience with petitions, non-compliance, and appeals
  • Strong skills in the use of tools including Degree Explorer, ROSI, and Timetable Builder.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel), ROSI, Acorn, Degree Explorer or comparable software.
  • Strong data management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with accurate grammar, spelling and proofreading.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to interact with faculty, students and professional colleagues in a tactful, professional and diplomatic manner.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet external deadlines and manage competing priorities.


Assets (Nonessential):

  • Experience working within a registrarial environment, understanding of best practices in academic advising and student support, experience with curriculum and program planning, and familiarity with the University of Toronto, Department of Management are assets.
