The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) is recognized internationally for its clinical, educational and research excellence. Our faculty are clinical and academic leaders who are breaking new ground on issues ranging from inner city health, addiction medicine, global health, palliative care, immigrant and indigenous health and far more.

As Postgraduate Program Admissions & Recruitment Officer, you will lead the admissions application review and interview process by assessing admission applications, analyzing data, determining logistical details, and communicating with external stakeholders. In addition, you will deliver presentations and provide recommendations on admission process improvements to accommodate a diverse and expanding applicant pool. Your strong communication, organizational and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and project management experience will be key to your success in this role.



Your responsibilities will include:

  • Determining logistics required for the execution of admissions processes and implementing a communications plan to keep stakeholders informed
  • Reviewing and assessing admissions applications and analyzing, scoring and ranking incoming applications
  • Analyzing statistical information to inform admissions decision making and conducting post-event evaluation and analysis
  • Analyzing service delivery and/or internal process and recommending improvements
  • Drafting written materials for presentations and presenting at workshops

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum four years’ related student services experience in a post-secondary environment in admissions, or student advising role, developing and implementing student programs
  • Experience with medical residency program administration
  • Demonstrated experience assessing and ranking admissions applications, including compiling and analyzing data and preparing statistical reports for decision making
  • Demonstrated experience developing new procedures and processes and seeing them through from conception to implementation
  • Experience supporting student recruitment activities, including delivering student recruitment presentations and developing promotional and outreach materials
  • Experience coordinating events, programs and projects
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain web-based information and application
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and POWER registration and evaluation system and enterprise video communication platforms (E.g. Zoom, MS Teams)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), judgement, organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent public speaking skills delivering presentations in a variety of media and for a variety of audiences
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing policies and procedures
