Your opportunity:

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Fitness & Performance, the incumbent organizes personal training, registered and drop in programs and provides a wide range of administrative services including assisting with the coordination of Fitness and Performance staff. The incumbent coordinates and provides support and coordination of the Personal Training and Fitness & performance programs and assists with other physical activity programs and special events as required. The incumbent maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in fitness and performance.

The incumbent assists in the coordination of the recruitment and training of casual staff. They facilitate the scheduling, planning and follow-up items for Fitness and Performance meetings as well as inter-departmental meetings. The incumbent assists in scheduling staff, ensuring proper coverage is maintained, provides orientations on procedures and practices of casual staff. The incumbent maintains all Fitness and Performance related program information on the KPE website as well as coordinates program set up and registration within the FUSION portal. The incumbent coordinates the collection and analysis of metrics related to Fitness and Performance program usage and participant involvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Screening and making referrals to appropriate resources and services
  • Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of fitness programs
  • Promoting athletic/fitness programs at student events
  • Disseminating information
  • Making minor purchases

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management, Physical Activity or Kinesiology or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum three years experience within a fitness and recreation environment
  • Minimum two years experience providing coordination and administrative support (preferably in a university setting or fitness industry environment)
  • Minimum two years experience analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of fitness programs
  • Experience planning and organizing physical activity programs and promoting physical activity
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication and editorial skills
  • Strong organizational and time commitment skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a position that requires tact and discreation
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to details
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team and independently
  • Must have a commitment to the Faculty's mission and values
  • Must have the ability to exercise sound judgement and creative thinking
  • Must have standard First Aid and CPR-C

Assets (Nonessential):

  • Experience with FUSION program registration system is an asset
