Sessional Lecturer - PSL201Y: Basic Human Physiology
The Department of Physiology, University of Toronto (St. George campus) is recruiting a Sessional Lecturer to teach the renal section of PSL201Y (Basic Human Physiology) during Fall 2026. The course will run from Sept 2026-April 2027, inclusive of the term tests and examinations.
Course Code and Title: PSL201Y – Basic Human Physiology
Course Description: A survey course covering all organ systems intended for students who are not proceeding further in Physiology.

Sessional Dates of Appointment: November 2026 to January 2027
Salary: In accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the rate of pay for teaching in this course will be $2,399.39, inclusive of vacation pay.
Qualifications: PhD in physiology or related discipline and Quercus experience are required. Lecturing experience in renal physiology, teaching large classes, and previous teaching in PSL300/301H or PSL201Y are assets.
Description of Duties: Delivering 5 X 50 min of pre-recorded lectures (online lectures are already recorded; there is no need to re-record) on renal physiology; delivering online help sessions; creating term test questions, final exam questions, make-up test and make-up final exam questions; and interacting with the Course Director or the Department of Physiology Undergraduate Coordinator. This represents 12% of the workload for this course.
