Position and Area: Applied Music Sessional (AMS) – Oboe

Estimated AMS Appointments Available: 2 to 3 with 24, hour-long lessons in-person per AMS appointment.

Sessional Dates: September 2026 to April 2027

Salary: $112.44/hour

Qualifications: Graduate degree in oboe performance or equivalent professional experience. Doctoral degree

preferred. Ongoing performing activities encompassing a wide range of orchestral, solo, and chamber repertoire. Demonstrated excellence teaching oboe at the university level.

Duties: Define lesson objectives and materials; provide clear guidelines on studio requirements and regulations; teach

lessons as scheduled; administer and evaluate student progress through assigned repertoire and exercises; ensure that

the Woodwind Area and Performance Division requirements are met in regard to culminating juries and recitals; prepare and submit final grade and detailed comments in accordance with policy and scheduled deadlines; maintain reasonable hours of student consultation outside scheduled class hours.
