Job Description

We are seeking an Expert Master Planner & Scheduler to lead planning and scheduling for Vention’s Canadian operations. This role is central to connecting Sales, Customers, Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics to ensure seamless execution. The ideal candidate is intellectual and data-driven, with strong analytical skills and the curiosity to challenge assumptions. You will not only build and maintain the schedule, but also interpret data, identify trends, and propose improvements that optimize KPIs and strengthen collaboration across teams.

Reporting directly to the Director of Operational Excellence, you will own the master production schedule while operating confidently at all levels of the business—from engaging with frontline teams to influencing executive discussions and supporting customer commitments. You will balance demand, capacity, and material availability to deliver reliable outcomes while enabling efficiency and customer satisfaction.

This role is also responsible for using scheduling levers to optimize KPIs including OTIF, next-day shipping, and average days to ship, driving automation in planning processes to improve speed and visibility, and collaborating with Project Management on large-scale initiatives to ensure alignment between long-term projects and day-to-day execution.

Key Responsibilities
Planning and Scheduling

  • Build, manage, and maintain the master production schedule to align sales orders, forecasts, and operational capacity
  • Lead scheduling activities to balance customer demand with production and supply chain constraints
  • Establish and enforce a cadence of daily, weekly, and monthly planning that holds Operations and Supply Chain accountable to fair but challenging goals
  • Apply scheduling levers to optimize KPIs such as OTIF, next-day shipping, and average days to ship

Customer and Sales Coordination

  • Act as the scheduling and planning liaison for Sales and Customers, ensuring commitments are achievable and transparent
  • Communicate proactively on order status, lead times, and risks while maintaining trust with customers
  • Balance commercial priorities with operational realities to protect both service levels and efficiency

Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics Alignment

  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics to ensure the schedule is executable and aligned with material availability and production capacity
  • Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely and reliable outbound shipments
  • Support planning activities that improve OTIF and fulfillment performance

Automation and Continuous Improvement

  • Drive automation and digitalization in planning processes to increase speed, accuracy, and visibility
  • Track, analyze, and report on scheduling KPIs including adherence, accuracy, OTIF, next-day shipping, and average days to ship
  • Identify bottlenecks, constraints, and risks; propose solutions and coordinate across teams to address them
  • Apply Lean and best-practice planning methods to reduce waste, improve responsiveness, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration

Project Management Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Project Management teams to ensure that large-scale initiatives such as new product launches, capacity expansions, or operational improvements are reflected in planning and scheduling activities
  • Align project timelines with operational schedules to minimize disruption and ensure delivery commitments are met

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in planning, scheduling, or supply chain within a manufacturing or fulfillment environment
  • University degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field; master’s degree preferred
  • Proven expertise in managing a master production schedule across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics
  • Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to communicate expectations clearly and confidently
  • Skilled at operating across all levels of a business, from shop floor to executive-level discussions
  • Proficiency with ERP, MRP, and scheduling systems (experience with NetSuite or equivalent is an asset)
  • Demonstrated experience applying scheduling levers to optimize operational KPIs
  • Experience in driving automation or digitalization of planning and scheduling processes
  • Experience collaborating with Project Management on large-scale initiatives preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, capacity planning, and fulfillment processes
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to translate data into actionable scheduling decisions
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities evolve quickly
  • Fluent in English; French is an asset for Canadian operations
